We needed to pick up another point guard to back-up Dee. Looks to be a really good fit for us considering it won't hurt the 2011 class.

Can Balis start working with the bball team? We need to bulk up our guards. I miss Jamont.

so instead of saving this scholly for that class, bryant will have it. granted, we need a back up PG. i wonder if this will be good or bad for deville smith's recruitment. as someone else mentioned, it could be the writing on the wall for "beckman".

sounds like he's a combo guard who can score. we could really use a 2 guard that can create offense.</p>

Paul Jones' article on BDJ says that he expects to move to the 2-guard when he gets to MSU. His current Juco coach said that. You can still bring in Deville without any problems. I have heard that we have a chance at Deville. Rosebowl has basically wrapped him as a lock for MSU. I don't think it's close to a lock right now. I watched Deville play as a freshman, and he was damn impressive.

Smith was by far the more impressive in both games I saw. There are some good high school ballers around J-town this year and next...

Michael Ignerski, Todd Myles (the senior year version). They aren't bad.

in part, because we didn't really pursue stringer. also, smith and hood play AAU together. ross and cox are their teammates at MBA.

of course, i am hoping for both o'bryant and adams, but if we can just get one, we'll be in good shape. smith, hood, and ammons would make an unbelievable class, even if we get 2 of the 3. i have basically already written off ross, as he seems to be falling off the map and may have eligibility/amateur issues.

though their teams may not have been competitive, those guys could ball.

with the team we'll have, we don't need a superstar, just a role player a la brandEn vincent or ignerski.

ever since Prep schools came into play. Here's the top 10 list from 2009 and let's just say that I'm not expecting many superstars from the group. Hell, the #2 guy, Will Coleman, couldn't even beat out Pierre Niles for the starting job on the Memphis team even though I think he'll eventually get it.

Edmonson was definitely not someone we were dying to get. Something happened.

Was it Cowherd's leaving?

Johnny O'Bryant and Tyler Adams are the two must haves in the 2011 class. Hood is the third guy we need... at 6'5 - 6'6 he can play the point with no problem... Those three would be an awesome class. You throw in Ross or Deville or Ammons and we will be just fine...
