New logo on the MSU license plates

I bought a new car middle/end of May and had 7 days to get a tag.
I go in and ask to see the MSU tag, it is of course the old logo.
I ask if she knows anything about the new logo making its way to the tags.
She of course doesn't, but says if I go ahead and get a State tag i could just swap it out when the new ones arrive for a fee or something.
So I'm on the road the other day, see the new ones, and am ready to get mine.
I go in, with tag in hand, i say i'm here to swap out for the new MSU tags.
She kind of chuckled, not in a sarcastic way, but simply informed me that they don't do that.
I explained my previous conversation which had informed me otherwise.
She said, no can do.
So I put my tag behind my back and asked if I could start over.
I then informed her that my license plate had been stolen and I needed to get another one and was willing to pay any fees that might be required.
She then, with a straight face, said something along the lines of "attempting to bribe tax office employees is punishable by yadda yadda yadda", no smile, no nothing...
I then attempted to ask if there was anyone else I could speak with or any other process that would allow me to get the newer one, to which she looked passed me and asked to help the next person in line.
...I stood around awkwardly for another 30 seconds or so hoping to find someone else to speak with before i decided to leave

Any ideas? Surely this isn't THAT big of a deal.

Yeah, go back in a week or month, after you have your tag stolen. If he/she says some BS about bribes or lying to a public official, chuckle at her and tell her good lucking finding a DA to take the case when she has zero evidence.

Its not... Put it back on your car and try again next year. There is NO way in this world I would go to the courthouse to "trade" tags for the new logo. The one in Meridian is a major pain in the ***.

i was in Rankin, and it wasn't a hassle (read: no lines, no waiting, etc), just not the outcome i had hoped for

Oh, and I'll be sure to write that one down...
Note to self: Do not use words "Asinine" or "Niggardly" when dealing with government employees

Thanks guys! :)

...and asked about the new logo whenever I went to purchase my plate (at the office in Ridgeland). The lady I spoke to told me that she wasn't sure when the plates with the new logo would be released but that whenever they were I could come back in and order a new plate and pay the fifty-something dollars it costs to get a vanity plate.

Me thinks this is what I should've done...

Threaten ninja's wrath if they don't cooperate and you'll walk back to your car to see an intern installing the new plate for you.

It's as if they intentionally tried to make them as ugly as they possibly could.

And way too much use of the color black on the whole tag. Our colors are maroon and white. I don't too much mind black as a trim color, but there's as much black on that tag as there is maroon.

just bought a new car and asked about the new logo.....as you can imagine........blank stare for 20 seconds or so and then the requisite "are you talking about ole miss?" I had to go with her over to the vanity plate wall and count her over two rows and down three to get to MSU plate. Of course it is the old logo and to further the questioning about the new logo was obviously not going to be very fruitful. I asked her about swapping out and she said I could only do it when I renewed next year unless I wanted to pay the vanity fee and the transfer fee if they did indeed change the plate. With three plates to change....I will no doubt stick with the old...most people couldn't tell the difference anyway.

Are the TN tags still going to be almost purple looking??? I am hoping with the new logo that they will at least be clost to maroon. I just don't understand why something as simple as picking out a color can go so wrong. I will get the new tag next time I renew but like the MS tag it would be nice if they didn't look so bland.
