That either means Friend is already leaving or that one of Washington and Hughes won’t be on staff next year.
Schrader groupies tell me Syracuse had a pretty good season last year.
I guess Arnett made some connections from the 11 days he spent as Syracuse’s DC ***
Ok, I've let the initial surprise wear off. I love it, you have to win in the trenches and by God we're going to do that. Let's add more O line coaches. Maybe we can have a coach for each position on the O Line like a LT coach, RG coach. We're gonna get them coached up alright!
I always thought it was weird that he wasn't listed on the MSU football coaches page with the other new coaches. Weird situation.
Could it be that Friend and Briles was a package deal and the Briles part of it fell through, which made Friend disposable.
Schmidt gonna coach OT and TE. Friend Guards and Center.
Why would that be a package? I don’t see where they would have ever been on the same staff.
Friend is coaching TE’s, Schmidt OL, Hughes RB’s. Washington off-field recruiting role. Unless Washington decides to leave elsewhere. Love the Schmidt hire

Leach always said the OL was the most fun to coach because they crashed into each other every day.
Is Hughes the most overrated on the field coach we have? . Every position group he has is always a weak link.
Nope. Best on paper that I can recall. A great mix of recruiting and familiarity but also some new blood mixed in.
Hughes is on staff to recruit Mississippi high school players. What position he coaches is irrelevant.
