Is it anything like Garfield's, ie frozen Sysco stuff that was fried or microwaved?

Sidenote: I'm pretty sure Garfield's was the inspiration behind the movie Waiting

Their Sunday brunch menu looked good as well and it's not that expensive across the board. It's cajun.

We had some friends that loved it because kids always ate free. I got a steak there one time that was literally not edible. I could handle their burgers, but they weren't anything to write home about.

And yes, I've been guilty of the same bad judgment of eating at Garfield's in the past too.

Just get a hamburger. They fill every small town shopping mall with horrible food. Bless your heart Pemberton Square.

I swear I have eaten at a place in NOLA called Zydeco....or maybe i was dreaming it....but regardless, I remember it being pretty good.....

and I agree on the garfields.....I remember when that place opened wondering how long it would last......im not sure about the food, but from a marketing standpoint, probably the worst run chain food restaurant in history....

There's a good bar at five points called Zydeco.

Thanks alot guys. Based on your recommendations, I gave this joint a try. ABSOLUTELTY HORRIBLE! The wife's redfish was pre-frozen. Ordered beignets, and they sent us freakin hush puppies, that's right, hush puppies! I ordered BBQ shrimp and grits, and they gave me a huge bowl of grits, and exactly four shrimp. The BBQ sauce was not the traditional butter garlic sauce Pascal's Manale invented and everyone copied. It was a recipe for thai-grilled shrimp, one of Bobby Flay's creations that I have made in the past. Copying recipes from a tv show and serving pre-frozen fish=douchey restaurant. Sorry guys, don't waste your time on this dump. Save the money and go to Captain D's instead.

it looks like 2 people said they had eaten in another city at a place they thought was named Zydeco's and thought it was pretty good.

I don't think anyone was recommending this place.

glad to hear its locally owned then.

And that vomit smell has dissipated byapproximately 70%, doesn't matter though I can't get enough BWW, my kind of ambiance.

say Ruth's Chris for example. I try to eat at unique places myself when travelling, but that doesn't mean all chains are bad, or owned by out of towners. Franchises are typically owned by locals.

and something happened from one week to the next. The service was horrible, they were out of freaking jambalaya and it was just poorly run.

I will give it one more shot but if it was anything like it was Friday night, I won't be going back.

I am guessing their franchise support people were there the first week and gone the next.
