if a player goes down hurt and an injury timeout has to be called, that player is ineligible for the rest of that offensive/defensive series. He’s off the field until a change of possession.

That would slow down that fake injury BS.

I wouldn’t be opposed to that.

I think it should include the next possession as well. It usually happens when a team is driving and probably in or near the red zone so there are very few snaps left in that drive anyway.

That is a reasonable rule. The only issue is it would be an advantage for deep teams. So the better teams that basically play 22 guys on defense could still do it where a team that only has 12 or so starting calibre players couldn't do it.
