Such a strong tradition at that school. Klienschmidt has the hoops program doing well, hope this gives the school and football program a boost. They always were a good program when I played, hit hard!

North side CL was always a joke from the SS looking north. Until GT, Loyola, Weber and Fenwick beat them and they did it plenty. “They hit hard” is a back handed compliment. I’m sure your MC team wiped the floor with the north side. There were plenty of north side teams that put their foot in plenty of SS asses over the years. I played some MC teams that hit hard too.

I found the expression, "Congregation of the Resurrection" amusing. These are the schmucks who ran Weber into the ground. Weber alums, including lawyers, doctors, corporate executives and others, banded together to save the school. These were seriously successful men. Regardless, the "Congregation" pulled the rug from underneath them at the last minute and closed the school. What a waste.

You’re simplifying the situation. Weber was suffering a demographic issue for years before they closed. As the borders move other schools suffer a similar fate to Weber. The border has moved north and an iconic school on the NW side faces the same fate as GT & Weber. The more we lose these wonderful schools the more we all lose.

i know two of the men on the rather impressive committee. According to them, a realistic plan was developed that could have saved Weber. It might have changed, somewhat, but so be it. Everything changes.

GT was not really lost ... merely rebranded.
