It sounds like that bar from Ruston is going into the old State Theater building - Dawghouse or Dawgpound?

Where are the bars going on South Nash? I hope that's the case. The Cotton District needs to grow towards Little Dooeys. Everyone wants a 'centralized' entertainment district, well, I think that's about as good as it's going to get.

that cemetery across from little dooeys couldnt possibly be in a worse place, save maybe the middle of the drill field.

One of my friends lived across the street from there. When they closed (at 7 in the morning, to re-stock the bar and hose down the floor), the yard looked like a scene from The Walking Dead.

When I moved away from ole South Nash a year ago they were tearing down a house on the corner behind Coconut's.......... But there's a church right there and per laws and stuff they can't build one there. It would be indeed be a clutch place to place a bar, though.

I don't see how places like Commodore Bob's can fail unless rent is high even by Dan Camp standards. It's literally the only crowded stoop in Starkville.

Well Dan owns Commodore Bobs I'm almost 100% certain..I could be wrong though

Then who the hell is Bob?

Dan finished up those Greek-looking eye sores by the bagelry while I was there too and a 900 sq ft one of those was like $1200 a month. Those are Brooklyn prices. I can't imagine what Dan is charging Bob and whoever owned Ptolemy's for the biggest eye magnet in the golden triangle. If Dan is Bob then that's another story. I'm also assuming that's why those places keep failing and that could also be false.

...Went during SBW

Has anyone been to Commodore Bob's Yacht Club?

Had the Fish and Chips and got to try the lobster Mac and Cheese...both were amazingly great, could possibly be the best food in Starkville...only thing that killed it was that Dan Camp and his old lady were in there talking to us but Ole Dan did proclaim one memorable saying and I quote "I am the Cotton District." Now that would go good on a T-Shirt with his picture

The Catholic church owns that property. They are the ones who torn it down. I imagine it will be a parking lot one day.

What would it take to build over the cemetery legally? I am assuming after dealing with the dead injuns under Scott Field, plenty of State fans would be willing to deal with whatever spirits were disturbed by developing over the cemetery.

maybe they cancel each other out? i think its worth a shot, after all, how much worse could it get? it might be a double negative type situation where 2 wrongs make a right. dig 'em up STARKVILLE!!!!!!!!!!! control the corpse and let our children drink.

You are not wrong. And I see plenty of ways it can fail. For starters...the bar is 25 and up for men. Good idea for a bar that has 18-21 year olds living everywhere around it *

Agree, but it ain't going anywhere, so city developers need to make it nice and scenic. A well treated/groomed cemetery can be a peaceful place. Would like to see a little money put into it

bob's

I've been twice. Food is really damn good. I highly recommend the lobster mac n cheese. The burger was the surprise of everything our table ordered. It's a turkey/pork blend with a fried egg on top. Sounds odd, tasted great.

Dan owns Commodore Bobs. Great food, cool atmosphere. I'm looking forward to Two Brothers opening across the street.
