A couple folks are saying they can't afford a Tesla. Tesla hasn't released its model that's meant to be affordable for the masses yet. They purposely started with the high end cars and are working their way down in price. They're releasing their Model 3 this year or next year and it's slated to start at $35 K which as I understand is about the regular price for a normal new car these days.

Honestly even $35k is a stretch for me. Not that I can't afford it, but it's just nauseating to spend that much on something that's going to depreciate so fast. My current car is a 2004 that I purchased 4 years ago. It had 75k miles on it and had been garage kept and dealer maintained. I bought a new car for my wife, but I just can't get one for myself ... can't bring myself to do it.

I hear you. I only buy used cars myself and not often since I don't drive much. It's very unlikely I'll ever buy a new Tesla even though I hope they succeed.

Oglebay has a few Tesla Superchargers and I think there's a few more at a Hampton Inn near Wheeling. Then we have a few state parks, the Greenbrier etc with destination chargers for their customers.
Oglebay has destination chargers (essentially for overnight charging), not superchargers.

On another note, Tesla started construction on a Supercharger station at the Sheetz off I68 in Morgantown this week. They're supposed to be working on a station off I79 in Weston as well.

Tesla needs to put their manufacturing in Charleston.
Several western states put out packages when they were seeking a location for their battery factory that ended up near Reno. WV's location would probably hurt in trying to get something automobile-related, though, since it's nowhere near the assembly factory in Fremont, CA. It'd certainly be nice to see something down the line.

If Tesla tried to put its manufacturing in Charleston what do you think the reaction would be?
I think if they wanted to build a factory that employed 1,000 people in West Virginia, you'd have politicians on both sides of the aisle willing to roll naked across broken glass in order to get their photo taken with Elon Musk at the grand opening.
