New "tradition" proposal for MSU...

Watching BPL soccer this year, I can't get enough of Crystal Palace FC's fans. They are the best (for a team that has had its share of down times, much like our Bulldogs...)

Anyway, they sing the old Dave Clark Five song "Glad All Over" before every game, after scoring and after victories. It's just darn cool seeing and hearing 20,000+ Brits singing it at full voice. I think MSU should do this - it's a great "stadium anthem"...

Here's an example of the Crystal Palace fans singing it last season at Wembley after their promotion playoff win that sent them back up to the Premier League.

Palace's fans are top notch.

I don't think it would work at State. Palace has been playing this song at matches since the tune came out in the '60s. How many State grads even know who the Dave Clark Five are?

I always thought "Brown-eyed Girl" would work well. Seems like everyone in Mississippi knows that song and is always wanting it played at live shows.

Something like this seems more intimidating

than a peppy British Invasion sing-along.
The flares might be an issue as well.

That would never ever work

Something like this seems more intimidating

than a peppy British Invasion sing-along.
The flares might be an issue as well.

The old codgers at the football games won't even stand up, much less jump up and down.

Hey, here's a new tradition that we should try before we attempt to get the entire stadium in unison. How about lets try to get the blue hairs to stand up and clap, maybe yell, on a 3rd and long for our GD defense. Then we could expand their enthusiasm to other plays such as 1st and 2nd downs for our defense. That would be a better attempt at any unison, since those 17s act like a football game is just a weekend social.

Jesus Christ, we aren't European Soccer, so drop it. Until we can get every fan in our stadium to cheer and get into the actual game, we can't expect much more than that.

Once every four years, that's about all you're going to get. Sorry, man. That's more than it used to be.

kinda scary considering we play in the second oldest gal in the entire nation. the fires are cool. we should just burn things (couches?) during the game and yell obscenities in a rhythmic and collaborative fashion.

I may be out of the loop but don't y'all already have a tradition set to a classic song that incites fan participation?
