just saw the new uni's and two thoughts 1. Someone needs to teach our players how to talk to the media and how to speak in public 2. Uniforms looked the same as in previous pictures, almost a little corny but none the less an improvement

when you were 19 do you think you could have talked eloquently to a reporter? and if you could do this do you think it would have translated to being an all-american or hell even all-SEC?

i don't give a rat's *** if they lock up in front of the camera and stare like a deer in headlights as long as they can play some damn football.</p>

I've been interviewed by a reporter before, but I'm also not a Division 1 football player - meaning, those guys do lots of things much better than I could/can, so I'm willing to cut them a little slack on the interviews as long as they keep doing those things well.

If you are going to be the face of the program such as Dixon is or Chaney you should be able to address a group of the media without looking scared...these boys are not 18 or 19 years old, they are grown ups at 22 23 years of age and they should be able to speak in front on a few hundred people without sounding scared or timid

explain to me why it matters that they are confident speaking to a large crowd of people and the media. this should be rich. so if Dixon was up for Heisman you would be disappointed in his oratory skills. amazing.

/oh and i am sorry that I said 19 years old because 19 vs 22 or 23 is a HUGE difference when it comes to public speaking.

I'd rather have someone representing the team that sounds more:

Like this

and less

Like this

That being said, it's really of no consequence to me whether or not they speak well, as long as they're playing and performing the way they should be..

Guy is a PR wiz, who decided he wanted to focus on sports. He was Bush's former Press Secretary, and after he left Bush's Presidency and PR Machine went south.....

From his site:
<span class="body_text">"MEDIA TRAINING: CONTENT/DELIVERY/CONTROL</span>
  • Pre-interview preparation
  • Pre- and post-game interviews
  • Feature interviews and stories
  • Response and evaluation "

I think Cohen could be a candidate for his services</p>

exactly. as for them representing our team in the media, i don't care one bit what they sound like. it helps that i typically don't like the media (sorry afro and guybehindtheguy). i would rather they represent us on the field.
