I been off the board for awhile due to some legal issues but I remember before the sheriff's came to my house there was talk of the checkerboard being done away with, have they announced the new jerseys yet?

Thank God. Those uniforms seemed to represent everything that’s been wrong with this program for the last 6 years or so.

Not many liked them from the beginning, and despite the fact we used to update our unis every couple of years and the unveiling of the uniforms was something the fan base looked forward to, they stubbornly refused to change - year after year after year of the same ugly uniforms.

Add to that the fact that we pretty much stopped doing alternates like most of the other big time programs do. Hell, Duke had like 5 alternate uniforms last year.

Same thing every year, refusing to change or update, oblivious or indifferent to the wants of the fan base, lack of creativity, excitement, imagination, energy.

Like I said, those damned uniforms somehow perfectly embody the problems with our basketball program lately.

I agree with this. Seems like the Checkerboards signified change in a bad way, maybe good karma will come if we get back to some sick jerseys. And lets not kid ourselves here, kids want to wear cool uniforms. The checkerboard is literally the second to worst jersey I have ever seen, the worst is the orange-pink UL ones they wore in 2012.
