I have come to humbly ask a favor on behalf of my chase team. Most of you have seen me make posts regarding our Skycams that we are putting up across the state. 28 currently with 4 more scheduled in the next few weeks…hopefully all before our spring severe weather season kicks off. And while we are going to remain marching full speed ahead on our goal to get these in every part of the state, last night we made a decision to start something new to expand our ability to deliver lifesaving storm information to the public, NWS, and local media.

We are in the process of having a website developed that will show of the live streams of our chasers in the field in one place with their locations updated on a map. This will allow anybody watching the ability to see what our chasers see as they see it and to know exactly where they are. This gives the ability for the NWS (who can’t wait for it to roll out) added eyes on the storms to be able to put ground truth to what they are seeing on radar. This site, in conjunction with our growing Skycam network, will provide unmatched levels of information at the fingertips of those who need it the most.

We received a very generous donation from a longtime Bulldog supporter just this week that is allowing these new cameras I mentioned earlier to go up now and to allow us to get the ball rolling on our chaser cam website, but once the initial development is complete, there will be the considerable costs of hosting the site and paying for the bandwidth during significant severe events. In order to ensure the site is ready and operational before our spring severe weather season kicks off, we had to go ahead and give the go ahead to start which means we’re having to step out on faith the money will be there for the monthly operating costs.

So I am here today to ask if there are any business owners on here who would be willing to be sponsors of this future site or if anybody wants to donate to it or our Skycam network. We are building a camera network that will undoubtedly save lives in the future and all of our donations are 100% tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3. If you are interested in being a sponsor or donor, shoot me a DM and I will get all of the details to you. Everybody can now get back to arguing over NIL and the transfer portal.

Have you considered putting your chases on YouTube?
We have and we've done them on Facebook live, too. The issue with that is not so much trying to get viewers for any kind of ad revenue or monetization. We're wanting to have a spot where media, NWS, EMA, etc can monitor all of our chase streams at one time and no exactly where they are at all times. Being able to see the behind the scenes of our stuff we'll have a chaser message in he's got a storm possibly doing XYZ. Then our social media guy and our media partners have to find his live feed and then try to confirm his location while bringing it up to broadcast. All the while our chaser is trying to maneuver around the storm while not getting zero metered by the tornado. I've done that...three times...I don't recommend it. So this is a way for those who issue warnings and disseminate that info to have all they need to know immediately and not have to do for info when every second is critical. This is being designed to help save lives and not drive views or revenue.
