Golden out of Memphis. Hell of a pick up if you ask me. The kid had an offer from Arkansas at one point. He may never play, but at least it provides an insurance policy that has 2 legs and 2 arms and some athleticism.

Had commitable offers from Petrino and Franklin, who seem to know what they're doing with QBs. Waited to long to decide and both filled their 25 man class. Really good, quality walk-on who will have a scholarship by next year.

Even if he doesn't pan out at QB, he's an athlete with a frame large enough to become a TE.

I recall that he has a family member who was offered scholarship by Vandy once upon a time.

Whether or not Vandy will just up and offer anybody is up to Franklin who is a new commodity there.

But Vandy's academic requirements are higher than anybody else's in the SEC. If he had a chance to qualify there, that's a good sign.

I attended Ridgeway High School and talked with some people who know the program well, they speak highly of the guy. Sounds like a good walk on

Harvard has high academic standards too but they give non-athletic cholarships to guys with 26's on their ACT all the time for stuff outside of academics. That's why I hate Vanderbilt's excuse, because it's horseshit. For a regular student trying to get in, it's extremely hard. Yet there isn't a document anywhere saying "You HAVE to have this this and this to enroll here." Obviously athletes are special circumstances.
