but may be hopping with MSU tourists on game day. Do not go to the Landing other than game day.
Places to avoid: Don't go to North Jacksonville or West Jacksonville period, the more south or east the better. The stadium is considered North Jacksonville so be careful around the area. You should be fine at the game with crowds.
Places to go: The Beach's is where is is happening. The strip of Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach to Ponte Vedra Beach (where your team is) is about 5-6 miles long. Good spots are the area where Mofro is playing (Jacksonville Beach area where Hwy 90 dead ends at the Ocean) which has dozens of restaurants and bars) or go to Atlantic Blvd where is runs into the Ocean. Atlantic Blvd separate Atlantic Beach from Neptune Beach and at the ocean there are at least a dozen bars and dozen restaurants with in a 4 block area. Cabs are everywhere and it takes about $5-6 to get from one beach area to the other. I would say the Mofro area is a younger crowd but much fun can be had at all the locations. You can easily hit 20 bars in one night with out driving. Several motels are at the beach.
To get to the game from the beach head west on Atlantic Blvd and merge onto Arlington Expressway and you are at the Gator Bowl after crossing the Mathew's Bridge. Arlington Expressway is a bad area a town so don't plan on stopping.
There are other good places in Jacksonville but nothing like the beach where everything is close by and the people are cool.
