maybe not for the small percentage of guys that are phenomenal but it is true. Most good qbs sit a year or two before taking over. Most great ones don't but thats why they are great and why they are in the minority.

this past weekend too....are they slipping?
Why are you SO wrong on certain things? Are you in love w/ Miles and were you spurned by Stansbury?
It's so obvious LSU is slipping. MSU dominated them in total yardage and all but won that game, and the refs gave them the game against a very mediocre UGA team. Plus they finish w/ OM, Arky, and Bama. They might lose 2 of those or all 3. And Crowton had a great reputation before he came to work under Miles. Jimbo Fisher obviously didn't want to stick around to work under him either.
Bama will be conservative against them like they were against OM, but if they open it up, they name the score.

Florida certainly isn't as good as they were last year.

I don't know that that necessarily constitutes "slipping" though. When Florida was where they were last year, they really had no where to go but down.

Mullen should be fired if he doesn't recruit and do everything in his power to sign Newton. Should we just go into the season with Tyler Russell, Chris Relf & the guy from Arkansas? Is that what you advocate? Thank Jehovah you do not make the decisions in the football office.

is straight up dominating JUCO, and was one of the top QB's in the country, and the fact that Florida wanted him is good enough for me.

I don't think Newton will hang 70 on everyone we play like he is doing at Blinn, but I'll take 28-35 a game on average as an offense. That's enough to beat people most of the time.

1. Until LSU finishes 8-4 or so this year, I'm not wrong. They are probably going to win 10 games aGAIN this year. Not sure how thats slipping, especially when next year is the year they will be much better.

2. The Refs did not give them the game against Georgia- they were simply moved 15 yards closer. And they didnt even need it. Charles Scott ran over 3 Georgia defenders for a 40 yard TD on the first play- how are the refs giving them the game? All the 15 yard penalty did was keep him from having a 55 yard TD

3. Crowton had a great reputation? Fired in Chicago, fired at Oregon...how is that great?

4. Bammer can't name any score. They will struggle to beat us- just as Fla and LSU did. Bammer cant open it up- McElroy is not a good QB yet.

5. Fisher left because he didnt get the head job. He was able to wait on a decent opening, but make no mistake- he left because he saw he wasnt going to be the HC at LSU

and thats the same with LSU- nobody maintains that level for very long. It always goes in cycles. But LSU is getting better as the season progresses, which is what you are supposed to do.

I don't think anyone has stipulated that and I'm pretty sure just about everyone in this thread wants/believes Mullen & Co. are working their *** off to land Newton and I'm pretty sure everyone in this thread also wants Newton just as bad if not worse than Mullen.

he redshirted, then spent his RFr year as carson palmer's backup. he didn't become the starter until his RSo year. booty redshirted and then sat as leinart's backup for two more years, not starting until he was a RJr.

manning was actually 3rd on the depth chart. helton and his backup (a colquitt, i think) were both hurt.

I don't recall a 90 post Schaeffer thread on NAFOOM this early in the recruiting game. You all have already blown us off the map in your veneration of a POTENTIAL QB.

Everybody in the nation thinks the refs GREATLY benefitted LSU beating UGA. But when even with that win, MSU pretty much controlled them. They scored on a punt return (98 yds too), a pick 6, and a long pass and they still got lucky to win. They couldn't sustain a drive, couldn't run the ball and still can't, and they have the worst offense in the SEC, and that includes Vandy.
Yeah, I think they're slipping.
Secondly, Crowton didn't get fired at Oregon, and to even get to the point where you get two head coaching jobs and a coordinator job in the NFL you have a pretty good rep. There aren't many coaches that haven't been fired. Cutcliffe comes to mind as being a guy that got fired, even though I'd take him over just about anyone as an OC.
And yes, Bama will roll LSU with or without a good game from McElroy. He didn't play well vs OM, and if they score TD's in the redzone 50% of the time, they win by 30+, and LSU's D isn't comparable to OM's. If McElroy can find close to the form he showed early in the season vs UK and Arky, albeit bad defenses, that game could be a 30-3 or worse type affair
Second straight year Saban owns the West, and you still won't say he's in a whole other league than Miles. The fact that you don't see that he is a couple of tiers ahead of Les pretty much makes you an idiot.

I don't remember much other than the ridiculous hype and an Ole Miss guy that posts on your boards being quoted in the Commercial Appeal as "peeing himself" in anticipation of Schaeffer signing.

has the week off to get ready, and has a little better team than LSU. And they wont beat them any more than 10 points

won't beat them by more than 10 because their offense is centered around controlling the clock and running the ball. not many teams that do that put up 50 points.
