Yeah, I know this is a LONGSHOT and alot to ask for but -

For our next OC we need a guy who has a pedigree of developing young-raw HS QB's and molding them into potential NFL quality. The kind of Quarterback that NFL coaches KNOW if they came out of the MSU Offensive system, that this QB has a shot of making it onto an NFL roster only because of the background, pedigree and faith the coaches have in the Offensive Coordinator.

Yeah, I know we have NEVER had this before in our ENTIRE history, but now is time for a change of attitude and changing the landscape of MSU football - and it has to begin with the QB and the ability to RECRUIT a QB into our system.

As it stands now, McCroom and McCroomvy can offer NO DAMN incentive for a legit QB to come here. Their piss-poor recruiting have gotten us where we are today, a ****-hole for QB's. Gone should be the days of recruiting QB types like Furr boy, Carroll, and midget Juco walk-on Lee. Some of our opponents in year's past have had QB's who have tore our *** up like: Memphis, Tulane, UAB, UCF, Houston, hell even Maine's QB was better than Furr boy. If these piss-ant schools can do it, SO CAN WE DAMN IT!

I remember back in 1991 (Sherrill's first year) we had Watson Brown as our OC, plus we had Sleepy Robinson and Greg Plump as QB's.

In my opinion, we have NOT had a QB worth a **** since Sleepy went down with a knee injury in the LSU game, Seventeen years ago.

He was far from being an NFL type QB.

Historically, our most productive quarterbacks have won games for us because of their ability to run. (See Bond, Don Smith, Sleepy). Mississippi State's most sucessful teams have been oriented around a strong running game and strong defense...(See 91, 98, 99, 2000, the early 80's).

I agree you have to be able to throw the ball some to compete in the SEC, but I think for Mississippi State to build an offense around a conventional NFL type system is the wrong way to go. (See Our Current Offensive System). The State of Mississippi itself does not lend itself to this. How many "NFL type" QB's have come out of Mississippi in the past 20 years? (Favre, McNair, Jason Campbell, Shane Matthews...I suppose you could count Eli, but he only has Mississippi ties because of his father) The point im trying to make is that its extremely hard to recruit that type of player here in the first place. With the success we have had over the past 20 years with runnings backs (M. Davis, K. McGee, J.J, Dontae before he got fat, Dicenzo, JERIOUS NORWOOD, we should bring in an OC who knows how to run the damn ball. Our offense should not be dependent on having an NFL caliber QB to be able to be half way decent.
