Kansas loses F Ellis & likely G Selden. Still team to beat with talent/Phog, but huge losses brewing.

OU loses G Hield, F Spangler, F Cousins.

TX: C Ridley, G Felix, F Lammert, F Ibeh, G Holland gone. G Taylor? We'll see soon. Taking a step back.

Bay: F Gathers, F Prince, G Medford gone.

I-State: F Niang, F Nader, F McKay gone.

TX Tech: G Gotcher, G Williams gone.

K-State: G Edwards, F Hurt gone.

OK State and TCU starting all over.

WV: Loses: Paige, Holton. Returns until otherwise occurred/scholarship number dealt with: Williams, Macon, Adrian, Ahmad, Watkins, Phillip, Carter, Miles, Myers. Redshirt newcomers: Bolden, West. FR: Bender, Konate, Harler.

Our league will be down next year in my opinion & not this type of challenge from 2015-16 campaign. Top half of league is rebuilding. Tech & K-State looking decently primed to rise. We return an experienced core with should-be all-BXII Williams. Develop a PG & we'll be set up well.

Agree. WVU is the only team in the league that, on paper, should improve next year. Everyone else taking a step back.

we shot decently for most of the year. last couple games phillip and paige seemed to be physically and mentally exhausted. or they were point shaving; they are roomies after all.

just kidding, i hope.

Kansas will not only reload, they will probably reload with even better talent. Look at the players that have left Kansas in the last four years...it is unbelievable that they are the number 1 team. So don't think they go through the same rebuilding process that we do.

I did not realize that WVU was the only team next year that will have newcomers. Sweet! All those other teams are going to be really disadvantaged by this.

Buzz Williams possible candidate for OK State and TCU.

It would make a lot of sense for both those teams to target SFA's Underwood as well. Look at his record, BXII ties, winning in TX, recruiting in-roads already in place. 3 straight NCAAs, 2 upsets. I suspect we'll be seeing him again. Even if they lose today, I have to say I'm impressed.

The thing about Kansas though next year to consider.
Frank Mason will be back and so will Devonte Graham.
DG is only a Junior and Frank Mason a Senior so that is two huge factors going for Kansas.
Perry maybe a big loss.but if you have watched 5 star Carlton Bragg play in KC. Carlton is a more gifted version of Ellis he could easy become a 15 or 16 points per game scorer next year.
The Kansas scrub who is now averaging about 10 rebounds per game Landon Lucas will be A senior next year.
Kansas did add a 5 star big who is meaner and a inside beast and about 260 and athletic.
Women and Children or smaller guards beware of the paint. Because Kansas will be losing it's softness tag at times soon.
Svi who is getting better will be a Junior if he returns? If not look out for Legarald Vick who is a good and more athletic player then any of our current starters not named Selden.

Kansas still has a chance to add another 5 star player if Selden does not return.
WVU actually the weaknesses that Kansas has had in recent years, Perry Ellis played soft or an old mans game.
Wayne can be good but at times gets rattled or goes MIA in some games.
Kansas might be a more physical team and can get back to the style they use to play again.
Kansas could be better next year then this year. But WVU could be a challenge.
But if Kansas fixes the TO's and gets more physical presence on the inside. I still like our chances though.

Cheers

Did he recruit some shooters and passers?

yea definitely Kansas is the team to beat. Obvious after their decade plus long run of league titles.

WV did get closer than people realize last year in contending for a share of the title. The OT loss at the Phog was a dagger to that though. This year we were 2nd only to KU, so with our returning core that's already been there, contending can be done again. The BXII this season was loaded with experienced stars. Not nearly as much the case next year.

Just don't know what to expect from the new guys, but should be helpful additions. Every recruit shot/passed extremely well in high school. The bump up to high-major D-I ball obviously is an adjustment. Last offseason no one was really talking up Paige & Phillip. We'll find scoring & surprises. Don't know that we'll see it, but I'm up for new wrinkles on offense. Felt we were best with 3 guards, spreading, dribble drive, heavy FTs. The KU win in Jan.
