You will have Boom, Snell, Rose and King. That is a fine foursome, Koback will RS, after breaking his leg earlier.
Even if Boom declares for the NFL, Snell, Rose, and King can get the job done.

Boom will be back next season. Boom, Snell, Rose, King will be the rotation and I think they will RS Koback. I'd like to see them use King in the slot some, the guy has wheels and he's super shifty. I don't know how his hands are but I could see him taking a screen pass to the house.

King had 11 carries for 82 yards (average of 7.45 YPC). Someone could carve out a nice role as a third down back if they could catch the ball well enough.

They don't play King because he's behind the other two guys and a senior Kemp. If two leave they might play him.... o_O

Well it is obvious he wasn't that good to take snaps away from any of them.
How good is his blocking of a 280 lb DE coming at him. Poor kid won't have a chance of keeping him off the QB for very long.

Can't count on Koback being 100% after breaking his leg. He might need a redshirt. Most teams have 6 backs on their squad.
I would def be in Bowden's ear about running the ball next year along with his other duties. Kid is a suburb athlete.

If he sticks around and Boom goes (selfishly, would love to see him back - special player), I could see King getting some carries. He may be a little undersized, but he has some speed and wiggle.

With Boom and Snell ahead of him, of course, he didn't get carries this year. Still, whenever Boom chooses to move on, King will likely have a chance to contribute. And if he can catch the ball in space...

I don't think it's a given that Boom comes back. If he can go in a decent spot, he should go. He's too injury prone to risk if he's in a good position.

There are three guys ahead of him that were able to run for a combined 2589 yards. The third back on that list was a senior who had been unseated by the other two players, and probably got a lot of the snaps that he did out of respect for what he has done in the 3 prior years. I don't know if King would get the same amount as Kemp has gotten, but he may very well get a decent amount of snaps, especially if he can be a threat to catch the ball. Think of this... Snell ran the ball 179 times and caught just 1 pass. So, he probably isn't a huge threat in a screen scenario. King, despite having very little time in the backfield had 3 receptions for 14 yards. So, he could be a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. I don't think that his number of snaps are an indicator of how he will be used next year.

Even if Boom leaves for the pros, RB is in good hands with the returning RB's and the one we have coming in. I doubt if Coach Stoops will ever be caught without good RB's. Their a lot easier to get then DL's or OL's. Good OL's will make an average RB look good, if he has some speed. When you get one like Snell, who has decent speed, and above average power, you have a winner, which Snell is.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

Next year's QB. Lets assume Barker transfers... who do we have ? and dont say Johnson because its possible he loses a hand during a freak camel riding incident thanks to jello shots.

LMAO.... I see UMM is doubling down on the crazy today... I mean since UMM already wants to tell us who we will have and wont have on next year's team........ WTF is he asking?

These are ALL opinions ofcourse. None of us make the calls so in my opinion, Rose will go before King in any scenario.I believe King has been recruited over as a RB and would love to see him try comer, or slot receiver.

As strong as Snell is, you have to share the Arab role these days because it is brutal for one man to carry that load alone. You woul be asking for injury of your stud RB if he gets fatigued and can't protect himself from blindside hits.

If Boom leaves, and minus JoJo, King is certain to get reps. Ball security hasn't been a problem for him during kick returns but he'll be challenged to hang onto the ball when taking it into the SEC jaws of defense.

Did anyone notice how nice he handled his series at RB in cleanup duty against Austin Peay?

He is extremely talented. My concern would be picking up blitzes from guys that weigh 100-150 lbs more than him. Just don't see it, and that is why I believe he is being recruited over. make no mistake, when you play a freshman over him, it's being recruited over. that, and it was said Snell and Rose we're nose to nose on who played this year so do you really think Rose will not get Jojo snaps? just my opinion. And you very well may be right.

King has had quite a few rushing attempts, and has looked good. He also has been very involved in Special teams and has done a very good job there.

How many games has he missed due to injury so far?

Silly premise. Boom would be out of his mind to leave Kentucky after this year. At this point, he is a borderline NFL prospect, and a late round draft choice with a prominent injury history. A year from now, he can be 1 of the top senior running backs in the country.

UMM you aren't very bright but I like your posts because they make me laugh. You said you assume boom would go pro. That means we would only have 2 guys returning and one being king. Why on earth would he not get reps?!?!?
I also laughed at the OP's post because this is the kind of dumb junk he always posts. Boom isn't going anywhere. Kentucky is deeper than everyone seems to think. Boom, Snell, King, Rose (who is a beast). King is a good player, just a little too light to play very many snaps. Koback coming in this next class, due to be healthy by August, is the next great running back. But he should redshirt if the others are healthy.

How exactly do we know Rose is a beast ?
I'm gonna assume practice reports and stoops comments. Stoops was asked about redshirt standouts and he immediately jumped to Rose as pretty much being somebody who could have contributed this year. Hey, it's a nice problem to have. I hope Boom returns, but he has his career to consider, and even if he has to earn an NFL roster spot as an undrafted free agent that might have to be his route. He can only take so much more abuse to his body without being compensated for it. If he returns, I have to think 9-10 wins isn't out of the question next year. Next year has potential to be one of those rare 9-10 win special type seasons that fans long for.

We would really miss Boom but we would gain some recruiting clout by having a player drafted after three years if he does get drafted.

Think of this.... Kemp was out several games due to injury, did King get his snaps?
Kemp was a decent back not spectactular and was still able to get some snaps when he come back with Snell being so good. King got in against sisters of the poor.

What im saying is not if he is a good back or not but of the decisions our OC made.

That is true, but King was also never a part of the game plan. So, they never really planned to get King the ball in certain ways. That could change next year.

Of course... IMO this is all kind of a moot discussion because Boom will be back. So, King will still likely be the 4th back in the rotation.
