Kueter should be the favorite over KD, especially if he puts on some weight while he's rehabbing and not playing football. He AA'd as a freshman, that's impressive at HWT especially with the depth this past season.

Kennedy should also be considered the favorite at this point. He just finished 4th and has been at 174 for a while. He was also the only guy to get takedown on DJ in the tournament.

I would say Ayala-Figs is a tossup since Figs has the win at 125, but Ayala has show he's quality at 133. I would also probably put us as the favorite at 157 even without knowing who either team will put out.
I will disagree with you on KD. Two things he does well, not giving up TD and riding well. Those two things should be good enough for Keuter.

I will give you Kennedy, but marginally. Since we don’t know how good is Facundo yet, he does have win against Kazak last year.

what do you mean slight Iowa lean? I see slight OSU lean.
Iowa favorites are Ayala, Caliendo (maybe, but not really), Ferrari and Bailey.
Sprately, Facundo, Merrill and Doucet are OSU favorites.
Swiderski v Williams and Robideau v Voinovich both pushes
Ok, you may be right, it was a knee jerk reaction, so I’m going to analyze it a little more:
125 - Spratley v Peterson (Peterson is tough but Sprat will probably win this one)
133 - Figs v Ayala Wash (difficult because Figs finish was not so good but this year before was great. So, I will have to go w/ Figs. Also, I just realized, it’s sounds and is spelled similar to Fix, which does give him an edge.)
141 - Jamison v Bailey (pretty sure Jamison can win this one, Bailey is tough though)
149 - Swiderski v Williams slight edge (difficult because Swiderski was out this year and Williams finished round of 12.
157 - Robideau v Voinovich (Don’t know how Robideau can fair in college but he is real good and Voinovich has no offense)
165 - Lockett v Caliendo (Caliendo is a stud but I feel Lockett can win. I heard a story of Lockett wrestling a bear and the bear tapped out)
174 - Facundo v Kennedy (I have no way to know this one. Facundo would have to be my pick but I don’t know, he’s only had 2 college matches but one was a 5-2 loss to Kayak)
184 - Ryder v Ferrari Push(Ferrari pushed Starocci more than anyone else last year. The question is can Ferrari beat Ryder)
197 - Merrill v Ludington (this one is pretty clear)
285 - Doucet v Keuter (Keuter may be the second coming but Doucet will probably win this one)
Well by golly, you are correct! 9 guaranteed wins

You’re back! So does that mean Tagen is at 141 again this year?

You are way more unbiased than I am. I would not make a good ref. I try to be level headed about picks, but it’s not in me.

Reminds me of watching Chris Perry squashing Surber demonstrating a riding technique during practice a couple of years ago.

Would be similar disadvantage if Coleman were riding say Spratly rn.

I think it’s more like:

Spratley vs Peterson
Figueroa vs Ayala
Hughes vs Bailey
Swiderski vs Williams
Jamison vs Caliendo
Lockett vs Kennedy
Facundo vs Arnold
Ryder vs Ferrari
Merrill vs Ludington (or portal, TJ Stewart)
Doucet vs Kueter

5-5, split

To me this is not only the best dual meet team but also the best tournament team for both. I know folks think I am crazy but, I would LOVE to see Jamison at 57. Fairly weak weight and I really think he can make some noise if he doesn’t have to cut. Normally, I would push Swiderski there but Jamison is the stronger and the better wrestler. Plus, I think Shapiro is the best wrestler at the weight but he’s small, weak and a mental midget (Shapiro needs to go down to 49).

There are a number of people on here that have said multiple times that they think Jamison goes 57. Myself included. I agree, I think it seems like the right fit. I don't think you'll see too many people calling you crazy.

Pretty sure if you go back into the thread, I was one of the first. After watching him slide toward the end of the year, I mentioned to folks in the know that cut really affects his wrestling. They confirmed it does. With Swiderski there and being small, he’s the perfect option

I'm not here to get into a pissing contest with you, just pointing out that many on here will agree that it makes sense for Jamison to 57.

They are unreal lineups. So evenly matched. Honestly, almost every every match could go both ways.

Here we go again!

Great post by the way…pretty much nails.

Tagen would be best at 41 with a 100% perfect cut, if he’s done growing. At his age and health, I’m not sure that 100% is attainable. *I think he’s still maturing and growing.

He’s better suited at 49, and better suited than Swid at 57…and it’s not really close at 57. Tagen is just pretty short for 57.

I like what you put out though! Props to you on that calling Mikey making that cut…he’s a 65 imo, but he’s a bigger problem to the trophy at 57.

...does wrestling at GAI with Iowa this year help with this guessing game? Results? Wrestlers for either?.....best to all......rs
