is that if they were going to make this rule, it should have been the Carson Palmer Rule.

And as always, I think any rule that takes away the "spirit of the game" is ********.

I understand they do it so they can get all their sponsorships in and get the games over on time so the next one can start but still.. It wouldn't hurt to have a few more plays in the game instead of a running clock until the 5-minute mark.

But, these two are retarded:

Forming a "wedge" on a kickoff return is no longer legal. If three or more players line up shoulder-to-shoulder within two yards of each other, it will be a penalty.

Okay I get it. Wedges are dangerous. But, so is any situation where guys running 4.5 40's at eachother head on with the intent to lay out the other guy. It's only a matter of time before punting/kicking is removed from the game and the offense just hands the ball over to the other team 40 yards down the field - or all drives start on the 20. Injury is part of the game - live with it or don't play the game.

A defensive player on the ground may no longer lunge or dive at the quarterback's lower legs.
So, a guy on the ground has to quit once he's down? What options are left for tackling a QB? They might as well implement a 2 hand touch rule for QB's if they are so hell bent on protecting them more than other players.

We're ten years away from two hand touch. No wedges on kick offs? What a joke. The same pansies that accept that these changes are ok will accept that two hand touch is ok. People get hurt playing football, they always have. NFL players are already paid a lot more money than they should be, which is the main reason that they make these safety rules. Enjoy it now, because we are watching the last years of real football.

is that officials are instructed to look out for them the first year that they're adopted. Therefore, you have officials keeping their eyes on ridiculous things like this instead of legitimate penalties.

The NBA is probably the worst. During a loose ball, you can dive on a player's back or steamroll a guy without foul. However, god forbid that you palm the ball or place a hand on an offensive player' back(hand check). The officials will never miss those.

I think they oughta reset the chains when offsides is called on a first down play.

What I hate is that it puts the defense in a virtually impossible situation, for a few downs, so the fight isn't fair and it's not as fun to watch.
