The system is too far along to change it in a day but the college football world needs to change.

For starters, the NFL needs to lower their age for players to play or they need to start their own minor league system or perhaps both. Using the NCAA as such is wrong. They just need to allow the kids that want to play for money to go play for money. Hold tryouts and let the kids play. If the kids don’t make the team, they can go enroll in school or get a JOB.

The NCAA recruiting system needs to go. The scholarship and signing day mess needs to go. Why should a kid get a free education because he can play sports? No one can answer that honestly with a valid reason. NCAA should switch back to kids enroll in school for an education and if they want to play football, then tryout in the spring/summer for annual tryouts and the group of 65-85 that make the team earn a scholarship for that season. Rinse and repeat every year. No harm no foul because the kids are in school for an education which is the entire point of the college system, HIGHER EDUCATION.

Downvote or call me a moron, doesn’t much matter. I know this post won’t be of the popular opinion but under no circumstances should a “Student-Athlete” ever be considered an employee of the university that they deserve to be paid.

Actually the coaches should pay for the opportunity to help mold the young adults into fine contributors to society**
