We will know the answer in 2/3 yrs. 3 1st round picks and 1 2nd round pick out of next 3 drafts. I say rams got the better deal, what say ye? I know its australian, just looking for discussion.

Hell yea... RGIII may be aphenomenalplayer but he nor any athlete I've seen coming into the draft was ever worth that much. Unless the feel confident in their current supporting cast or feel as if that they can make do in free agency... I just don't see this as a wise investment in their parts.

I don't think they should have made the deal. The value of that pick was way too high, even if they felt like they had to give what they did to move up.

Their defense is solid, but just like the Rams, they need young talent at multiple positions, and trading away your next two first round picks seems like the exact opposite of how to address that. It amazes me that Dan Snyder still thinks he can build a competitive franchise via free agency under a salary cap. The teams that have been competing consistently have been drafting well and/or developing overlooked free agents.

I know everyone's on the RG3 bandwagon this year, but he hasn't done anything at all in the NFL yet, and there's a very good chance he'll be a bust. Here's a list of the QBs taken in the top 5 picks in the last 10 drafts.

2002 - David Carr, Joey Herrington
2003 - Carson Palmer
2004 - Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers
2005 - Alex Smith
2006 - Vince Young
2007 - Jamarcus Russell
2008 - Matt Ryan
2009 - Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez
2010 - Sam Bradford
2011 - Cam Newton

Remember, every single one of these players was as highly hyped as RG3 is this year.

They gave up a LOT. Might help them more for this season, but looking at the next 5-7 years for the franchise, I still think that they have a better statistical chance of improving the team by keeping their picks.

The only other trade I've seen that compared to this was the Vikings trade to get Herschel Walker.

And, we all saw how it crippled that franchise. To me it's just too much to give up for an unproven player.

The Rams have got to be jumping for joy right now.

They have a solid QB in Sam Bradford. And now, they are going to have at least two first round picks in the next two drafts- and those could be high picks if the Redskins suck.

If they draft well, they could end up like the team that traded Herschel Walker- the Cowboys of the 90's.

And based on history, I can not believe that there are still teams that are willing to make trades like this. If you're the Redskins- why not sign Matt Flynn?
