want the team to tank so that Fisher can be fired?
I am saying the silver lining if they struggle is Kroenke will have to do something on Fisher. I am predicting they will struggle, just a tad different than hoping. No WR's, very young OL, and lost Long, Laurenitis, Jenkins, and McLeod off their defense.

Man, I hope so.

Since arriving in Tennessee the Titans' front office has never put forth maximal effort to win. They certainly like winning, but it's like they want to get a SB win while setting a record as the cheapest team to do so. It think Peyton's presence would help to instill the winning mindset.

I actually think the offense has more talent than you realize and a QB, not just someone filling the role, could potentially make STL the best team in the west this year.

I think your trolling at this point honestly so I'm done explaining to you why you are wrong.

They had the worst offense in the league last year so please keep trying to explain it. Maybe two years from now but they have to find a WR with no draft picks They do have some promising young linemen and I love Gurley.

It's just odd. Silver lining is anticipating a good coach to fail and the owner to fire him?

I see things a little different. A healthy Gurley with a yr under his belt. A QB (albeit a rookie) who is still likely to be a better manager than you've had in nearly a decade. And a wicked defense.

Like I said earlier, I think the Rams pick 18-22 next yr....which means a winning season.

Don't get me wrong. I hope you're right. Id love for the Rams to go 3-13 next yr so that we can wrap up the Fournette sweepstakes.

Not odd at all. Simple opinion, backed by results so far, that he does not have to chops to win in an increasingly offense-driven league, is highly unlikely to develop whichever young QB they draft, and has too much control in personnel (and not very good at it) which has ruined many coaches. He is Tubby Smith circa 2007.

^ he does surprisingly well against the Seahawks, though. Wilson might die in one of those Rams-Seahawks games. Talk about a bad O-line versus a great D-line.

Well, they say opinions are like noses. How does the Rams' fanbase in general feel?

'Cause as an outsider, I watch St Louis go through 1-3 win season with Linehan/Spags......with the turnover from staff to staff, the roster getting demolished. Then Fisher/Snead comes in and coaches them regularly to 7-9 wins, builds a top notch defense, gets a franchise RB.........and then gets them a QB away from making playoff runs before making a draft move to target whom they consider is the best QB in the draft. And they do this in 4-5 yrs??? That's pretty darn good. Given 2 failed coaching staffs and subsequent personnel wasting, that's really, really good. Good enough that you hear the talking heads on NFL Live, Sportscenter, Path to the Draft, NFL HQ, NFL Total Access say regularly what a good job they are doing in St Louis and how they are really building a program. So, if Fisher has the final say, then why aren't you satisfied with the turnaround over the last 4-5 yrs?

You are right though. I do like Fisher. No, I'm not in love with him nor the stache. But we went through a similar situation with him at Tennessee. We had a perennial top 10 defense, a good RB in George, and a above average QB in McNair.....and times were good. We were winning 10+ fairly yearly......even in a division with Manning. Should've won a SB a time or two, but the front office didn't give him the talent to do so. Constantly sitting on cap space. Eventually, the cornerstones like George, McNair, Bullock, etc all started to depart........so, the front office decides to strip the team and start the roster over......players like Vince Young forced onto the roster......and the records suffered. Still, Fisher should credit for still getting close to .500......and actually winning 10 and 13 win seasons with a 147 yr old Kerry Collins. The talking radio, ESPN, and NFL Network heads touting how well Fisher was doing.......as the fans called for his head saying "he didn't have it anymore......and that his style of play doesn't fit in today's game......he's passed his prime (even though Kubiak just won a SB this yr)....."

I hope you can see where I'm coming from and why I'm a bit touchy on the subject. I apologize.

Ok enough! Seriously their pick is locked in and Goff is their guy.

What does Cleveland do? They need everything and if we are talking about wasted picks, good lord that team gets nothing right except 5-6 yrs ago when they took 2 OL in first round.

So do they take Tunsil? A QB pick is a waste for them honestly so maybe Jalen Ramsey. IMHO if I was Cleveland I'd be begging Jacksonville to trade up for Ramsey who they want but think they may get him anyway. Or just take Ramsey and do their best to trade him and pick up extra picks.

Cleveland
-OL - Joe Thomas is 31 yrs old, so his time is limited. They also lost Schwartz, their RT. So, taking Tunsil would certainly set the team up well. But then again, they could find a good RT in rd 2 or 3. They lost Mack at OC. That's a big blow and they'll need to replace him.

-WR - They lost Benjamin to FA......and Gordon is, well, Gordon. They need at least 2 WR's, but certainly there is no WR worthy of #2.

-QB - The presence of RG3 yields opportunity to get a QB outside of rd 1, but honestly if I feel that Wentz/Goff had any potential I'd really, really consider it. You can't afford to put all your eggs in the RG3 basket. If you choose to wait and pick up a QB next yr or the yr after, it will likely be too late. The owner will axe you by then.

I would consider trading down.....with the hope to get a WR, OT, OC, and QB in the first 3 rds. Perhaps it would also give you ammunition to jump from then 2nd rd to the 1st for someone like Paxton Lynch should he fall. If a trade is unavailable, I would either take Tunsil or a QB.

How is Laquan Treadwell not the type WR people are dying to get? I thought he was a beast myself and think he could be huge where ever he goes.

They drafted a first round center last year in anticipation of Mack leaving. They're fine there. If they could get even a second rounder, maybe trade Thomas (won't be part of the next good Browns team anyway) and draft Tunsil. Trade down for sure if the value is there. Hold off on a QB - heard they rate Goff much higher than Wentz, so don't reach just b/c Rams jumped to 1 to get Goff. Do the RGIII thing for a year and see where you get, or draft a developmental guy like Paxton or Cook or Hackenberg.

It's just tough really because you have to win your division which overall is cold and has bad weather in Pitt, Cinci and Baltimore.

Defense and a run game work in this division. No one is really killing it offensively once Rothlisberger is hurt from passing too much.

Tunsil makes a ton of sense with or without Thomas and so does Bosa or Ramsey really.

I don't see how Dallas would pass on Ramsey. They haven't had that level talent in the secondary since Deon Sanders.

Just saw that no matter what Jaylon Smith will sit all season, and I think he would be a great 3/4 round gamble for a team that can wait until next year.

With things how they are these days it's a safe bet he will play and get feeling back into that leg. Hell the story and positive feeds you'll get for trying as an organization is worth it if nothing else.

Cleveland will take the other QB or trade back to someone that will but not too far. SF would make sense. Just fyi, next year's QB class is supposed to be weak.. Longshot but would CLE give up a 2nd to go up one spot to get Goff? And Thomas has to be gone (watch Seattle).

Bosa to Dallas seems too perfect.

Treadwell's 40 time was just so-so. Doctson is better.

Actually due to weather conditions I think Wentz is better suited for Cleveland. I just never understood starting a rebuild with a QB. Plus their mix is awful. No real WRs to throw to, no RB to hand to, solid OL but a very suspect defense. So a lot of 3 and outs and bad field position.

Terrible for any QB to come into at all.

For Cleveland I swear I'd go Tunsil and just have a badass OL and then take Derrick Henry 1st pick in the 2nd round.

As a 49ers fan I'm glad Fisher is the Rams coach. That is our main rival and love beating them. We didn't beat them last year in St Louis tho for some odd reason.

http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2016ltreadwell.php

He will likely go a little higher than he's supposed to but he's a mid to late 1st rd pick. He has good size, has reliable hands, and is a great blocker but he lacks in other areas. He doesn't have the raw speed to be a deep threat nor does he have the quickness to separate easily on routes......plus he has already had 1 significant injury. I've heard some compare him to Kelvin Benjamin due to the speed, but Benjamin is 3-4" taller and 20# heavier.....with longer reach. He would fit best with a run first team with a very accurate QB. He likely won't get a lot of separation due to his lack of speed, so he will need a QB that can put the ball where only he can get it.

He may not be the first WR off the board either. There isn't a pure top WR in this draft. No Watkins or Cooper. There are several good WRs in this class....and they will likely go in order of fit. Fuller is the burner/deep threat. Coleman is the ultra fast slot guy. Treadwell is the run block, possession guy. Doctson is the smooth all-arounder.

For the Titans I like Boyd or Shepard in the 2-3rd rd. Both are very smooth route runners.....probably the two best in this class. Boyd has reliable hands for the most part. Shepard never drops a pass. Boyd has good height and a fair build. Shepard is built like Cobb....shorter and leaner. Both could play outside and allow Wright to move inside. Both would be immediate impacts. Shepard could move inside if you decide to let Wright go in time.

:joy: At Mel Kipers new piece. It's his "insider" version of a non-mock mock draft. He sells this by saying it's not a mock draft but instead it's him pretending to be the GM of each team and deciding how they should pick.

Glad he thinks enough of himself to keep that insider info at a premium. I will wait two weeks until he doesn't anymore and just follow all the other non mock drafters.

Kipper had a decent mock for the Titans. I would've preferred him grab Decker with the #15 and instead to Spriggs in the 2nd go Boyd if he has to take a WR. I did like doubling down at OT with Clark too.

My prediction though is that Cleveland trades down and we trade back up.....though not with each other.

No one needs to trade up really. I guess maybe if someone wants Tunsil otherwise why give up anything for a player that may fall to you.

Dallas/Jax go Ramsey/Bosa in either order really so no reason to move, and Baltimore will be happy with Jack. So either you find someone that wants Tunsil so bad over Stanley/Conklin/Decker or SF may want a QB before they trade Kap.

If it's me as GM, which would be fun, I'd target SF as the spot to trade back up to and take Hargraves! Then hope like hell Spriggs makes it to our 2nd round pick. That duo but losing one of our other 2nd round picks would be awesome, then add Vonn Bell at safety and I'm a happy first year Titan.

Krazy just give me the 15th your second and next years 5th to move up to 7th. If that happens I feel we can have the best draft. But we do already have 13 picks this year. Maybe if we trade in the middle 12-18 first round then we pick up more picks I bet we move up in the late first round to draft a qb. I think we may have the 14th and 30th pick.

If I'm the Cowboy I look at how bad the passing defense has been and I draft Ramsey that defensive back looks like the back they need.

Most of us are assuming that the Titans will take a OT in the 1st but we don't know. We are are also assuming that the draft will go as predicted. Last yr Leonard Williams was considered the best player in the draft and he fell. It is possible that Tunsil falls to 5-6. Or Ramsey, or Mack. What if the Titans are in love with Buckner or Hargreaves? Or what if they prefer only one of the 3 other OTs not named Tunsil?

Ancient draft guru Gil Brandt says that in most drafts (including this one) that there are typically 1-3 elite prospects, 2-7 great prospects. Throw in a QB or 2 (or an odd choice)and there's the top 10 of the draft. He then says that most often there isn't a huge difference in the quality of prospects 15-50.

So moving back into the top 10 can be a wise move.

The Titans used one of the draft charts in the trade with the Rams. That likely means they use it for the basis of their trade decisions. Now there are many different charts but with the one the Titsns/Rams used the move to #7-8 from #15 has a difference of ~350-450 pts. Therefore it "should" only take a single 2nd rd pick......specifically the #45 pick is worth 450......while the #55 is worth 350.

For further reference it would a 2nd and 3rd rd pick to move to #4 (Cowboys).

Now, obviously you have to have someone who agrees to the trade but imagine the Titans picking at #4 overall, choosing between Tunsil and/or Ramsey, having two 2nd rd picks, and two 2017 1st and 3rd rd picks. That's a very possible scenario.

I think that is thinking too deep really. Bottom line is Tennessee wasn't sure what to do at #1 and didn't value the pick or cost that come with it and got an overwhelming offer they had to take even though it dropped them big time in the 1st.

I've read they had no plans dropping there but they now have what it takes to move back up or/and most likely at this point move up into the first for a second pick. If that is the case and looking at the last 10 projected they must value someone a lot that we aren't hearing about yet.

Sure we are assuming Conklin or OT, because it's a safe assumption based on last years devotion to Mariota.

Eagles re-sign Bradford, sign Chase Daniels, and now close to moving up to #2 to take a QB.

Makes sense really. Most coaches want their guy to latch onto and being strapped with Bradford buys a coach an extra development year for a new guy.

But it also wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland is floating that to get others involved.

Seriously how can one be happy as an Eagles fan about this trade?

I always like the team adding draft picks in these deals. But I guess for the team giving picks away, especially for the Eagles, it's smart because they will have a lot of money tied up at QB so not having a 1st next year helps that cost out.

On the surface, this is a Cleveland Brown move by the Eagles. They must anticipate a McNabb impact by Wentz. I don't understand it, but maybe they have a plan. Maybe.

It also makes me wonder if Bradford could be on the trading block. Not sure who would want the contract but supposedly many teams inquired with the Rams before he went to Philly.

No chance anyone wants Bradford and I'd be doubtful Philly wants to throw Wentz to the wolves from day 1.

Their strategy has been one of the worst in the last two years I've ever seen. They have let go or traded McCoy, Maclin, Murray, Kiki Alonso and one of their top DL as well and shed picks left and right to move up!

Good Luck fellows!

The thing about this trade I don't get is, they had a good shot to trade up last year for Mariota and they passed on that. I know they probably would have had to give up 1 more 1st round pick, but that trade makes a lot more sense to me.

1st rounders (and all rookies) are pretty cost effective under the new CBA. In fact, that's an argument against drafting, say, a QB and sitting him for a year or two (Cowboys/Romo). But I would hate this trade as an Eagles fan.

Different regimes. Chip Kelly was a bad GM (although I think he was a fine coach), and now new regime doing their own thing.

All the reports coming out of Tennessee was that Philly offered the Titans the moon but they passed.
