Well, they say opinions are like noses. How does the Rams' fanbase in general feel?
'Cause as an outsider, I watch St Louis go through 1-3 win season with Linehan/Spags......with the turnover from staff to staff, the roster getting demolished. Then Fisher/Snead comes in and coaches them regularly to 7-9 wins, builds a top notch defense, gets a franchise RB.........and then gets them a QB away from making playoff runs before making a draft move to target whom they consider is the best QB in the draft. And they do this in 4-5 yrs??? That's pretty darn good. Given 2 failed coaching staffs and subsequent personnel wasting, that's really, really good. Good enough that you hear the talking heads on NFL Live, Sportscenter, Path to the Draft, NFL HQ, NFL Total Access say regularly what a good job they are doing in St Louis and how they are really building a program. So, if Fisher has the final say, then why aren't you satisfied with the turnaround over the last 4-5 yrs?
You are right though. I do like Fisher. No, I'm not in love with him nor the stache. But we went through a similar situation with him at Tennessee. We had a perennial top 10 defense, a good RB in George, and a above average QB in McNair.....and times were good. We were winning 10+ fairly yearly......even in a division with Manning. Should've won a SB a time or two, but the front office didn't give him the talent to do so. Constantly sitting on cap space. Eventually, the cornerstones like George, McNair, Bullock, etc all started to depart........so, the front office decides to strip the team and start the roster over......players like Vince Young forced onto the roster......and the records suffered. Still, Fisher should credit for still getting close to .500......and actually winning 10 and 13 win seasons with a 147 yr old Kerry Collins. The talking radio, ESPN, and NFL Network heads touting how well Fisher was doing.......as the fans called for his head saying "he didn't have it anymore......and that his style of play doesn't fit in today's game......he's passed his prime (even though Kubiak just won a SB this yr)....."
I hope you can see where I'm coming from and why I'm a bit touchy on the subject. I apologize.
