With the #17 pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select Shemar Stewart, DE, TAMU

For Birds fans, that's a lot of DEs and DTs picked so far -- positions that the Birds could use some help at.

With the #18 pick, the Seattle Seahawks select Grey Zabel, OG, North Dakota St.

There was a lot of speculation that Seattle would trade this pick (including some indicating that they were hoping to trade the pick), but it appears that they kept it

With the #19 pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

That's somewhat of a surprise, as the Bucs have Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Jalen McMillan at WR on their roster

They may throw everyone off and pick DT from Oregon.

your speculation was correct. They did need DL help, so from that perspective the selection makes sense. I still can't figure out what their plans are at QB

Good pick by the Stillers, but I was looking forward to the responses on this board if they’d picked Sanders. 😕

That makes two of us, unless they trade back into 2nd round to get Dart or someone else. Rumors were teams were inquiring about Pickens. Maybe they move him for a second rounder?

The late minute agony by the Chargers’ brain trust was entertaining to watch.

Apparently they resolved to draft a RB. Either Henderson from Ohio State or Hampton from North Carolina.

Harbaugh is sitting there and opining They pick Hampton 🤣

The Houston Texans trade their pick to the NY Giants. Reportedly, the price was the Giants 2nd round pick (#34), their 3rd round pick (#99), and the Giants 2026 3rd round pick.

Lots of speculation that the Giants made the move to select a QB.

With the #25 pick, the NY Giants select Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

The LA Rams trade their pick to the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons trade their 2nd round pick (#46), their 7th round pick (#242), and their 2026 1st round pick for the Rams' 1st round pick (#26) and the Rams 3rd round pick (#101) (I think I got that correct; not certain)

With the #26 pick, the Atlanta Falcons select James Pearce Jr, DE, Tennessee

Another player that was on a lot of mock drafts as headed to the Eagles

This betting on the draft is out there. I haven't even been on Hard Rock (who is usually tame wrt to props in general), but I listen to AM sports gambling on the way to and from work, and the draft betting fever seems almost Super Bowl-esque.

How hard would it be for someone to send a text from inside/near a war room to a buddy about an upcoming selection? Even if the war room is just that, the days leading up to the draft - nights out, beers, loose talk, guarantees, etc.

The book will always win obviously, and there's nothing wrong with that. It just seems off to me. In many cases it's a predetermined outcome. That said, the British books will take bets on if the sun comes up.

It wouldn't be "hard", but that person working for an NFL franchise likely has a lot more to lose than what can be made on a draft prop bet.

That ends Round 1 of the draft.

I'll set up threads for Day 2 and Day 3 of the draft, but with traveling up to PSU, attending the Blue-White game (and earlier events in the day), etc., I'll not be posting much in those threads -- certainly not as the picks are being made.

I laughed at the Eagles trading up one spot at the end of the round. But that's a good pick. Love that Campbell grew up in the Philly region an Eagles fan.
