Bengals/Steelers: Winner gets a home game against the Ravens, loser gets a road game against the Colts. Is that correct?
Yep. Game also has implications for next season. Winner plays NE and Indy, loser plays Buffalo and Houston. I really don't think either team has much of a chance of beating Brady but winning tonight would delay playing them until the AFC Championship.
Agreed.

And just going on potential opponents, it seems to me like both teams would actually benefit if the Bengals win tonight. Cincy has had good luck against the Ravens, while it seems to me like another game vs. the Colts would actually be better for Pittsburgh than a 3rd game against Baltimore.

Closing the book on Teddy Bridgewater and Mike Zimmer's rookie seasons:

Teddy Bridgewater had the third highest completion percentage by a rookie in league history, trailing only Ben Roethlisberger in 2004 (
). Not bad for a guy who can't throw in cold weather because he has tiny hands. Kid's dope.

The Vikings went 7-9. They were competitive in every game except the loss to the Patriots in week 2 (Matt Cassel started) and at Green Bay in week whatever (Christian Ponder started and children died). For a team to not have any talent and be in every one of the rest of those games, winning half of them, pretty good. Also nailed his first two draft picks with Anthony Barr and Bridgewater. Absolutely aced them. You're good eggs, Cincinnati. You let us have a good one.

All right. Back to the relevant teams.

Bengals back to their usual selves in prime time.

7-7 game that they could easily have a 10-0 lead if not for stupid mistakes.

Off topic, but there should be a law against playoff scenarios including ties. No team is going to tie in the last weekend of the season. Just don't include them. If a game fits into overtime, then you can go back and start explaining what might happen.

You ruin these threads with your non football knowledge, your bandwagoning, and your meth consumption. Surprised they let you watch the games from the drive thru. Dre was called for a questionable bump earlier in the drive and then they let brown just throw dre out of the way. Are the refs ben's stall buddies?

Absolutely horrible ending to a great season for my Lions, but our defense will not hold up vs Dallas unfortunately.

Indy is is the perfect matchup for Cinci though, can't run at all so they should play bump and run and blitz all day.

Anyone hoping Bell is seriously injured is a terrible sports fan/human being in general. The hit on Carson wasn't intentional and that was 10 years ago. Time to move on. How can someone honestly hope for harm to another human just because he plays for the rival? I understand there were Steeler fans who cheered Palmer's injury but they were in the minority. Rooting for an injury is just incredibly stupid. I hope Bell is alright. Regardless of who players play for you never want to see someone get seriously injured.

You seem ma's that the Steelers continue to own the Bengals. This is a very down/ "meh" year for the Steelers and a "good" year for the Bengals yet... Steelers still >>>>> the Bengals.

Not true. Any time a team wins its division that is considered a good year. You're just trying to be clever.

Listen, I'm not going to sit here and pretend that the bengals are superior to the steelers historically, but what a dumbass comment. This is the 4th straight playoff appearance for the bengals and 5th in 6 seasons while the steelers are back for the first time since 2011.

This is an excellent season for the steelers in recent history and an average season for the bengals.

Congrats to Pittsburgh for winning the toughest division in football. That is not considered a down year, despite what the previous poster mentioned. Steelers swept the Bengals and that was the difference, they earned it. Can't get swept by division rivals and expect to win a division. With this win Pittsburgh will play New England and Indianapolis next season and the Bengals will play Houston and Buffalo. Obviously would much rather win the division and get a home playoff game over a perceived easier schedule for next season, I just thought it was worth mentioning.

My picks to win next week are: Carolina, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Dallas. I am very much looking forward to watching the Baltimore-Pittsburgh game. I think it'll be the best of the weekend.

At least Cincy's playoff game is on Sunday at 1pm. Maybe it will trick them into thinking its just another regular season game.

Dalton (rightfully) gets a lot of criticism, but AJ Green is almost just as awful in prime time. The 1st INT was clearly Green's fault, and then that fumble. And although that 2nd INT was a horrible throw, Green did manage to get two hands on it. Megatron and Dez would have caught that pass.

Dickintheham.

Surprisingly enough they don't lack too much to be competitive. There's a lot of talent on the roster.
-QB - problem 1A. Ouch. My goodness do I hope they pick up a veteran, Whiz works his magic on Mett, and/or they pick up someone like Mariota in the draft.
-RB, WR, TE really aren't bad. Another promising WR would be nice but without a QB what does it matter.
-OLine - we will let Roos go. Lewan will shift to the left....and he did well this yr. Schwenke and Warmack have improved a lot. Levitre is disappointing. They may opt to cut him loose. But all would do much better if we had a QB. The biggest hole is at RT. There will be plenty of FA's available.
-offense outlook - get a QB and all will be significantly improved. Need to sign a RT this offseason.

-S - actually they aren't bad. They are aging and will need to be replaced in the next couple yrs but they aren't bad
-CB - they need another top notch guy. Losing ATV was very bad. They also need a pass rush
-Dline - not terrible but certainly need some personnel changes. Mostly they need to change over several of the depth players. This can be cured through FA
-LB - Williamson is getting to be a very nice addition. They need a jack-backer in the worst way. Someone like Gregory or Dupree in the draft could transform the defense.
-Defense outlook - need to make some minor moves in FA. Absolutely need a high draft pick on a jack-backer. And they need another starting CB whether through the draft or FA. They also need a QB that can keep the offense on the field and the defense off.

So, make a few minor FA moves for better scheme fit. The major holes are QB and Jack-back......also another CB. They make a few changes and they can be back in the 7-9 win range as usual. However, since the ownership and front office is still newer.....I'm biting my nails to see if they will actually do what needs to be done. The owner said that they are gonna make a huge number of changes this offseason. We'll just have to see.

You are optimistic. I'll give you that. I have zero confidence in Lewis or Dalton. I think Green is looking to get out of Cincy. Just my personal opinion. I think he wants to play with a legit QB. Won't happen in Cincy unless Dalton has career injury or something.
