there are always rumors about it being Bobby Hall's last year. They have Todd Mangum as a coach in waiting and everything- I really like Mangum.

It wouldn't shock me if Hall stepped down if MC won the state championship- counting eggs before they are hatched. And if he did, I wouldn't be surprised if he took some sort of a role on at Ole Miss like Felker has at MSU.

Just pure conjecture and I know that probably wouldn't happen- just that it wouldn't shock me.

to bring home another state title this year. If they can get past Petal and that really good QB (Alford??), I like their chances. Defense wins championships and their defense is probably best in the state this year - e. g., they shut out Brandon last night and held them to 27 yards in the first half.

He was the head coach at Ocean Springs before leaving to be an assistant at Madison Central. Here's an article that give more background and talks about why he left (the article says he grew up in Mt. Olive, and that's probably true, but he went to high school at Magee).

It's wide open this year- a LOT more fun for me since I absolutely hate South Panola and I hated everyone talking about how invincible they were. Thanks Hoover!

Meridian's QB looks like a pretty good player.

But, anyway- I didn't mention Petal only because I just can't see them winning it all. MC beat them fairly convincingly.

I hate to say- though- I think Brandon got screwed on that fourth down from watching the news. I still think Meridian wins over them.
