Anybody heard why? The article doesnt say why. I cant think of a legit reason except travel worries for them to want to forfeit and go home early. Well its a ***** win, but I guess its a win. 8 and 1 heading into Hawaii is pretty good. Better than where I thought we would be.

Wonder if it had to do with the argument yesterday.

Nicholls State's coach is a *****. I don't like to use language like that, even on a MB, but there's really no other way to describe it.

I was wondering if this would put us at 8-1 on the season. Them forfeiting means that THEY didn't want to play and we did. (obviously)

while we were on defense. The Nicholls coach got his feelings hurt and had some words for Mingione. Things kind of escalated after that and the umpire eventually brought both coaches together to end the argument and clear the air.

From what I heard, the Nicholls State coaches thought that our first base coach (Mingione) was trash talking with their players. I guess they didn't like it, and started argueing with Mingione and Burroughs. Then Cohen got out there in front on the Nicholls State dugout and started yelling at their coaches. Apparently, the umpires had to break it up before it got out of hand.

I read that on here somewhere.

I have no idea of that's what I was really what the arguement was about but there was no doubt that there was a heated arguement.

I'm certain that there has been worse things said coming out of a dugout.

I have a feeling that Polk scheduled this series.

How did they think that was directed at their team? Why do they care what we are yelling in the dugout?

I guess since we were on defense?? and yelled 'Attack', there coach took that to mean attack their players. ??? Beats me.

Maybe something totally different was said, who knows.

And a funny tidbit about the arguement- it was going on during the chicken dance. (OK, so I have a weird sense of humor)

Where does it say Nicholls State forfeited the game? Everything I've read said the game was simply canceled.

They are claiming the game was cancelled and what seems was a mutual decision.

make it sound like to me that playing the game was weather related vs the arguement yesterday. Or at least that's what they want us to believe.

I bet Byrne told them that if they didn't want to play, they would have to forfeit the game to get their paycheck.

Cohen clearly wanted to play today.

being the team no one wants to play. Just imagine when he gets the players he wants here.

I just drove by the field. There is absolutely no snow on the field. Infield was covered by white tarp but conditions look fine for playing today.

for any reason. I'd love for this to be the first of many stories where Cohen is such a leader/winner/badass that he makes the other team's coach pack up his balls and go home whining like a *****.

Per veazey's blog. Not a bad offensive showing to have never suited up. From reading the blog, it appears that Cohen was ready to play and that Nicholls State just got on their bus and left. What a zoo.

Seriously, who the hell thinks that if they don't want to play, for whatever reason, that they can just pack up and leave? Especially when the other team is the visitor.

We should only send them 67% of their check for playing this game. Those sons of bitches.

I was always taught- be ready to play, no matter what it looks like outside. If the field was unplayable at 1:30, then the umpires have the jurisdiction to call the game.

Seriously, if I was a player on Nicholls State's team right now, I would be embarassed running out of town like that, I don't care what the weather is like.

Based on their actions today and yesterday, the coaching staff at Nicholls State are a bunch of bitches. They have brought shame to themselves, Nicholls State, their players, and the game of baseball.
