We need to try and do something to raise money for Nick Bell and his family. Nick and his family are facing a physical and emotional battle that most of us cannot even imagine. The last thing this family needs to worry about is money. I have given this some thought and have come up with an idea, but I do not have the answers as to how to pull this off: have someone design tee shirts for sale to be worn by all of our fans for the Arkansas game - shirts similar to what were done for the BC student a couple of years ago that was battling cancer - I am not creative, but someone on here is or has the resources to put this together - all of the proceeds would be put into an account for Nick's family.

<div class="messagebody">I would propose a maroon t-shirt with #36 on the back. On the front I would have an image of a Bulldog and "Bulldogs Beat Cancer" on the chest. The retro looking t-shirts are popular now and I think would look good. If we could find someway to get a company lined to put together a proof and start taking order, I think we should all wear these for the Arkansas game to show our support for Nick and his family. Of course, all of the proceeds of t-shirt sales coule go into the account set up by the University.</div>

I would think being a scholarship player that his medical needs are covered by insurance.

out of pocket expenses such as co-pays, the 20% of 80/20 plans, deductibles, prescription co-pays, over-the-counter medication etc. that the family will have to pay. I know from first hand experience that a significant illness/procedure of any kind can destroy an otherwise stable financial situation in very little time. I can assure you that this will be an incredible help to the family during this time. When you are worried about your child's life and then the extra financial strain on top of that....any little help is an incredible blessing.

I wouldn't drag the cowbell issue into this situation. DS says Nick and family are being taken care of by the University. Although the T-shirt idea is a good thought, I would hold up as of now. Might be a good idea to let things play out for a bit.

Just saying that I think athletes at MSU are pretty much 100% covered and taken very good care of by the athletic department as compared to typical insurance policies. I'm not at all opposed to helping people and have done so many times.

I like the idea of a maroon or white shirt with something simple on the front and Bell's number on the back. You can get t-shirts made for nothing and sell them for about 10 bucks. I doubt the university would worry about the cost and all sales can go to the family.<div>

great idea, but keep the cowbell separate. We don't want any negative connotations...

Tell Slime to take the money we are going to pay in fines and give them to the Bell family. The SEC doesn't need another 150k. </p>
