Rosebowl just posted his weekly special story on Nick James.....in that story Nick states that he did 39 bench reps of 225 lbs last week and his goal is 50!

My thought, holy ****. How does this stack up to the boys in the combines?

so i find that report hard to believe since he's never been in a real strength program. the most ever done at the combine is 51. 39 reps would put him in the top 5 nearly every year.

I seriously doubt that report. Long Beach powerlifting coach needs to be fired not having a guy that strong on his team. James would own the MHSAA record in the bench press.

I could not remember what the combine numbers were.

Regardless, even if he is fibbing a little, I am wooly.

He gonna be a beast if he passes high school.

Weird analogy, but I feel as if Quay is to Colossus in Big Fish as Nick James is to Karl. Folks just think one is a freak of nature, but then the other one comes along and blows him out of the water.

I just compared two (assuming Nick actually makes it to school) of our freshman DTs to characters in a Tim Burton film. That opportunity may never come around again.

on his chest that he's bouncing the bar off of, 39 reps(or anything close to it) for someone that is 18 years old is unreal. His upper arm is bigger than Nick Griffin's thigh.

Wow. I don't know the skill level of those O-linemen, but that was really damn impressive.
I checked. The 7 offensive linemen he went against in the film signed with Arizona, Syracuse, Boston College, Missouri, Tulane, Washington, and Washington State (not necessarily in that order)
