Just noticed that Nick Redmond is from Gulfport. I grew up in Magee and live in Horn Lake now, but my father and all of his family is from Gulfport. So, I'm really pulling for this guy. He has great size at 6'5" 315 lbs. Plus, I see that he had an offer from UM, but committed to THE program in Mississippi on the rise. Anybody seen Nick play in person? I would love to hear more about this guy.

I think your love affair with him is borderline inappropriate.

... But no, I'm not obsessed with the guy. I just spend a lot of time down in Gulfport with the family and would like to see him do well. If he's really is 6'5", that's plenty tall for a OL. I was just curious if anyone has seen him play in person.

he is a good kid and will be a good SEC lineman. I hope he can redshirt and get a little stronger but he committed early and has stuck to his word. The rebs have tried to muddy the water but I think he is firm.

Good upside.

The Bulldogs have three three-star offensive linemen committed. OT James Maiden
(Woodville, Miss./Wilkinson County) is 6-4, 280 pounds and played on
both offensive and defensive lines in high school, but his future is on
the O-line. OT Nick Redmond (Gulfport, Miss./Harrison Central) is 6-5, 310 pounds and loaded with upside. Daniel Knox (Collinsville, Miss./West Lauderdale) is a 6-5, 250-pound tight end who likely projects as a tackle because of his size.

There's not a chance in hell he plays this year. Our 2 deep ain't bad. Robinson, Jackson, Freeman, Maiden, Day, and Clausell would have to go down before he would step in. That's after our 2 starting guards in Saulsbury and Sherrod, then we got our back ups and freshmen coming in now. And I think Maiden is a better talent than Redmond. I think Redmond would be good, but if he actually doesn't get to redshirt and has to play we are royally 17'd. I think it's highly unlikely that all those guys get hurt, so I would bet the house he gets redshirted.
