Supposedly, on the trading block. He’s been a solid pro. I root for him.
Maybe the most improved player during the Cal era. From his freshman year to now.
He’s stuck as third-string center in Phoenix. That’s sad because Richards was improving steadily every year before this one.
It ain’t that sad. He’s still quite a success story. His freshman year he looked like he had no chance at a career like this.
There weren’t many players that we got to see stick around and dramatically improve during the “in and out” Cal one and done era. But Nick was the rare exception.
Did I say his story was sad? No, smart ***. What’s sad is that he isn’t playing and is buried in Phoenix after they traded for him. But go ahead and twist my post to pretend I was dismissing his Kentucky career, because that’s easier than actually responding to what I said.
He really was and every game I see him get minutes he puts up stats. I have no idea why he never gets run. Trade him to a team who actually will use him.
Richards definitely needs to get moved at the deadline. The Mavericks’ frontcourt is shot with AD out at least six weeks. He’d also get a chance to play alongside PJ Washington again if they made that move.
I think he would get a nice contract and playing time if he was ever rewarded with a chance to play for even a bad team extended minutes.
This was totally uncalled for, and a gross overreaction to a post that was a reasonable follow up to your previous post and not at all smart *** or twisting what you said. I hope you were just having a bad moment.
Maybe I was having a bad moment and read the post the wrong way, but bringing it up again with your moderation attempt is just stirring the pot from atop your moral high horse. I am here to talk basketball, not enforce forum etiquette. This is about Nick Richards’ current situation in the NBA after the trade and now riding the bench. Saying it’s “not that sad” is dismissive of Nick’s situation in Phoenix. It is something Richards himself is not thrilled about, knowing he has plenty to offer teams. This isn’t about the narrative of Nick just being proud to get to the league, or dismissing his wonderful story at Kentucky. It's about what is happening to him right now in the NBA.
