They have put a lot of high round busts over the years. Roquan Smith is the only one that I can think of that was not a bust. Floyd was viewed as a bust for most of his times with Bears. I don't know what Justin Houston played at Georgia. Ojulari looks like he could be a player.
Boss Bailey, David Pollack, and Kendrell Bell are three Georgia LBs I remember but none had a career even close to most of the well thought of PSU LBers.
Honestly had trouble even naming one from UGa that became successful in the NFL, or that was an All-American.
There are other schools that would make it a closer debate (like Miami, at least historically rather than recently) but PSU is tops (yes with my blue and white glasses on).

LBU is not a self-imposed title - the moniker was given to PSU from observers outside of the program. That’s how these things work.
Plus, Joe was famous for recruiting high-end talent, regardless of position, to play LB. Case in point - he recruited HOF QB Jim Kelly to play LB. Also, didn’t Hostetler transfer to WVU when he couldn’t beat out Blackledge and was going to be moved to LB?

If that were true, then there would be no reason for this board to exist.
That's not entirely true. Joe said "Kelly would make a good LB". But he never recruited him to be a linebacker.
Hostetler's brother was a LB here, although it may have been before Jeff was here. And I don't think Jeff had the build to play LB. So, I don't think that is true either.
Appreciate the clarification. Just echoing one of the many urban legends spun over the years about Joe.
I think the brother who played LB was before Jeff. IIRC, they had a brother who played baseball at PSU.
BTW, a couple of NFL tight ends (Greg Olson was one) created Tight End day and then Tight End University where nfl tight ends come together to work out or whatever. This was discussed recently during a game where the color guy was a former Miami LB. The pbp guy suggests that someone create LBU as well. I thought the color guy would jump and say Miami was LBU but he didn’t.
Yes you are correct, Jeff’s older brother played linebacker at PSU. The older brother was Ron Hostetler from Conemaugh Township High School in Somerset County Pennsylvania, the same school as Jeff.

When Blackledge beat out Hostetler, he offered to move him to defense (probably LB) like his brother or help him find a school to transfer to play QB.
