What about those athletes that won't be able to profit off their name. You know the walk on players or ones that don't shout star of the team. Not everybody is going to make the same amount. That's where the problem is.

All players have a choice. Choose the NIL route and make money off of your NIL. Or choose the schollie route and take the tuition, room, board, books, stipend, tutors, etc..... If you choose the NIL route you better be ready to put in some time to make the money. How money is made from your NIL for game time, presser appearances, jersey numbers, etc is yet to be determined. But you can get an outside gig to promote area businesses. That in itself could be lucrative. It could also be very shady with high valued recruits getting paid big bucks to to to XYZ school and be immediately set up with contracts with local companies.
IMO the NIL route is a dumpster fire waiting to happen. Could just ruin college sports.

That is ok with me. If you want to gamble on yourself then by all means do it.

But yes this can be even more dangerous than the shoe scandal NCAA just went through.

This is coming soon so schools need to be prepared. It's not going to be pretty. Will also be hard to manage. How you going to tell a kid he's making too much money off his own image or likeness? This could be the death of college sports. But I don't see how they avoid it.
