NIU up on Nebraska

As an NIU alum, the last couple of years have been not so great, and a lot of people have been wondering about Rod Carey's future.

I went to last Saturday's NIU-EIU game and they looked really solid. Thing is, looking on the field it was like reading an Edgytim recruiting discussion page.. Kyle Pugh, Spencer Tears, Daniel Santacatarina, Tommy Mister. Their younger classes really seem to be developing into good college players.

Now they're mid-3rd quarter and holding a lead on Nebraska!! I'm getting excited about Huskie football again!

I believe the last 5 to 7 years NIU has had a great record against Big 10 teams.

Funny none of these Big 10 teams don't want to schedule a game in DeKalb

Maryland's coming back to DeKalb in 2021, this time as a Big Ten team.

NIU was supposed to play Nebraska at Soldier Field last season but they backed out when the Big Ten went to a nine-game conference schedule.

They're 4-1 in their last five vs. Big Ten.

I was at that 2003 Maryland game in DeKalb. Was absolutely amazing taking down the #14 team in the country.
