NJ State Tournament Dates Changed

If I were AC boardwalk hall I would tell the MAAC to pound sand. Went twice to that tournament and if there were 2k people in the stands that would be a lot. The amount of money that the high school tourney generates for that city. I would not be making them move dates.

While I will agree with you about the MAAC, this was the weekend it always was until the MAAC demanded Boardwalk Hall and the NJ wrestling season was shortened by a week. It should have always been this weekend. NJSIAA should never switch back! It was always NCAA conference tournaments, then NJSIAA state tourn, then NCAA's.

How long ago was that schedule change? Seems like most of the coaches are pissed that the schedule has changed and prefer the schedule before this move. Only reason I heard of this change is play golf with some current and retired AD’s and they were fielding calls on the course. The community is not happy.

If I had to guess it has been close to 10 years since it changed. Funny, I was with coaches as well and they were happy with the change. It adds an extra week to the regular season so they have more schedule flexibility.

I’m sure there are some that are okay and some that are not. But according to the multiple articles and my experience it’s not sitting well with many.

These are shore conference and morris/union county AD’s. Brick/Point borough/beach /Delbarton/Wall/Southern were some that weighed in.
