NMSU beats UK?

NMSU just beat a New Mexico team for the first time in 6 years.
New Mexico beat Air Force(8-6) and at Boise State(9-4) last year finishing 7-6 and almost beating Arizona in their bowl game. Oh yeah, and Boise beat Washington who took out USM which is very irrelevant but it goes to show we can very well be beaten Saturday. Ecspecially with a morale at an all time low and their morale likely very high.

Sorry fellas if you consider this a win already after the last 2 games and the recent SEC upsets/near upsets you need a reality check.

The last 6 quarters of football show me nothing to believe we are better than NMSU.

Anyone expecting a blow out or sure win by UK clearly missed the first 2 games of this season... Not to mention ULL and EKU last year.

I wouldn't be floored if UK lost. We have looked that bad minus one quarter all year.

New Mexico State is still pretty bad. UK might screw around but this game and APSU should be fairly easy wins by the 4th quarter when it strikes 0 on the gameclock

I would wager only that NMSU is coming into CWS thinking they can beat the 'Cats. Nothing like a confident "David" coming into CWS believing they can notch a win over a team from the "Goliath" conference.....the SEC.

Can see it two ways.

A. An uninspired UK team vs a motivated hyped underdog and game goes down to the wire.

B. UK comes out playing with confidence due to it being a lesser opponent and throttles them only to revert back to same old same old the following weeks.

Its not just 6 quarters that take the wind out of the BBN's sails. Make no mistake, you could tell the lug nuts were loose beginning with what should be referred to as the EKU tie. I don't know a thing about NM State, but if there are anything like EKU, this game is no slam dunk.

To add some more irrelevant fuel to the fire, BC beat UMass worse than Florida did (barely), so for anyone who thinks Florida has an electric offense should recheck. We simply just stink and could possibly have one of the worst defenses in the country. If a team that hasn't scored over 30 points by playing the likes of Umass and Florida Atlantic(OT) in 10 games then destroys us 45-7. WE SUCK. That Florida team lost practically all offensive playmakers from last season and some NFL players on defense. We wont destroy NMSU by any means unless I am missing something,

Yea, I think the Cats cover and more importantly win. I don't believe CMS and Staff have "lost" this team. A number of players have stood up and challenged the slackers. I anticipate a number of line up changes possibly, starting with Elam. That would send the entire squad a HUGE message, that no position is safe. WR core is solid, Thomas is a quality D1 position coach.
I look for a much improved defense with a lot of new guys out there.

What will it actually take for you folks to understand that Kentucky is now at a point that it can lose to any division 1 program in the nation?

Statistically we are one of the worst teams in the entire nation. Mentally, we might be the worst.

Their QB is mobile (uh oh) and their RB went for 1600 yards last year. UK should still be able to pound Boom and Kemp at them to win. Hell maybe Barker can complete a screen pass to Baker or Johnson.

Honestly, if we play like we have played since halftime in the usm game, we easily lose this game. By double digits.

That's how badly we are doing at present.

Think about this ... Last game the defense "stopped" UF only four times -

2 missed FG (UF shot themselves in the foot)
1-Interception
1-End of game

When the clock stops UF as many times as the D does ... that doesn't bode well.

If that were to happen, none of the 28 fans in attendance next Saturday would ever go to another UK game.:sunglasses:

Syracuse is a different story than New Mexico State. Even a bad Syracuse. New Mexico State isn't quite like Charlotte but they're pretty close. As down on this team as I am I fully expect a UK blow out win. If we lose this game then Stoops should get fired before he reaches the locker room after the game.

I read in another post that Kentucky is the only team in the nation that ranks 120th or below in both total offense and defense, lol.

StOops did say in his press conference that they were going to review film even more closely this week though so we've got that going for us.
