Everybody knows buyouts are in fact part of contracts.
And if there was no "buyout" and he wanted to leave to coach at another school...the contract would be broken.

There is no contract that can be written that will 100% be able to keep you at a job if you want to leave.

I mean ok. But not easy for Nebraska. They have proven that. If the wheels fall off this year I am right there with ya. But I don’t maybe it’s just me. It would be nice to see a coach continue to make progress and see it through. And so far he has.
That’s what I’m saying. Next year would be brutal with any new coach. There is real momentum building and next year’s roster will be promising

If the wheels fall off, Rhule is probably our coach next year. If we make some kind of insane run to the playoffs, maybe he goes to PSU. We’d take that deal - and NU would surely have elite interest from prospective coaches.

I do not think our AD is going to dive in head first on an extension. Ruhle was not kidding when he said he needs 40 million in NIL for next year. Unless they are able to bring in a LOT of talent, next year will be a rough year. The schedule is brutal.

Yeah, I agree with that. I just think there are coaches out there that they could snatch up that are just as good.

Maybe…. An insane run in the playoffs isn’t happening. But 9- 10 wins is realistically achievable. Why start over if the progress keeps occurring? Sometimes it’s careful what you wish for.

But you argue that contracts are broken all the time.Quit posting on this subject.

What would be the incentive to go to Penn State? He’s set up perfectly right now. If the school is willing to pony up the NIL which I think they are, he’s probably got a top 10 team for the next 10 years.

No there are not they follow the language of the contract. This isn’t s something that you can not figure out.
Dude, after reading your post, I could not even imagine trying to break a contract that you wrote. What the ****.

15 million dollar buyout, so clearly he is fine with staying at IU but he is also clearly going to look around, just not at PSU, it appears.
