that Arkansas has far better facilities than OM. And they do. Across the board. The point wasn't whether or not it's possible to win at a school with lesser facilities. It's that Nutt has less of pretty much everything at Ole Miss than at Arkansas, where he often underachieved anyway.

It seems that Georgia quickly became a trendy choice after not getting the nod at the end of last season. They are very good, but my pick would be Florida as well. They have a couple of unbelievable recruiting classes that are now pretty seasoned and should have a great deal of chemistry. Meyer may be the best coach in college football and Tebow is certainly the best quarterback. Florida has amazing speed and always gets to play Georgia 'at home'.</p>

That since LSU is the only real rival of Ole Miss....all of these naffoomers would go and talk **** on the LSU boards. Especially with the new exciting bowl they created for the matchup. Seems like they should be arguing about whether LSU/Ole Miss wins the SEC not who ends up finishing 5th in the west. I guess if they went over to the LSU boards they would probably find people who wouldn't care to respond ( like the La tech guys that have come onto this board).
How can you logically make a claim that Nutt underachieved in anyway at Ark? Would you consider going to 20% of the SEC championship games underachieving? What about 5 or 6? (can't remember) New year's day bowls? What would he have to do to make you say he did a good job or overachieved? Does he need to go to Atlanta 4 times in ten years? I mean come on it's *%!$%!$ Arkansas? Not Auburn or LSU. He never finished last in the West with only 1 5th place finish. Exactly what did he need to do to not "underachieve"?

This is the sole reason why I think every major school should try to schedule a D-1AA school for its opener. You need a freebie game to be able to use to suspend your players that messed up in the off-season.
I still believe that Croom probably would've suspended Pegues and Co. in 2006 for the opener if you weren't opening with a swing SEC game against South Carolina at home. If you had been playing Murray State, they'd have probably sat out as punishment.
Always open with a cupcake to take care of your off-season discipline without costing yourself a game. Georgia may be playing with the scout team by the time that opener rolls around, but they'll still beat Georgia Southern and not ruin their chances at a national title by disciplining players.
were all very close games that almost came down to the last play or overtime. We won 1 of 6 of those. There was probably a little bit of luck involved. However, they won them. All SECW coaches had a good record against us from 2001-06 so that's a wash. Hell, we didn't win a SECW game in 2002, 03, or 04 and the only SECW team we beat from 2001-05 was UM twice. Nutt has proven himself but I don't fear what he did at Ark against MState. I simply think he will do a pretty good job. He will not have as good as record as he did at Ark.
we fired a coach who was slightly above 500 and headed down the toilet. for whatever reason, cutcliffe had quit or failed at recruting after his first class or two.. you do remember his 4-7 final campaign? i equate cut to sloan,,, his first group of assistants was outstanding but as he lost them, he couldn't replace them and he wasn't up to the job himself.
He had good years, but also several years where they finished below the talent level of their team. Even if last year had been the only one, it was bad enough to question whether or not he was that great of a coach.
