But, you would have to think it's almost a done deal seeing that the Seahawks are cleaning house and Carroll's name is already tied to it. I couldn't imagine them firing Mora after 1 year without having a big name lined up to replace him with.

Perhaps there's more to come regarding USC and penalties (self imposed or NCAA) and Carroll is bailing before things get messy?

The Reggie Bush scandal isn't over yet is it? Maybe some hard evidence is about to come out and Carroll is jumping ship. Who knows?

I don't know if anyone could have done much better with that Seahawks team this year and he had 4 years left on his deal I think. Something is fishy.

he can't compete with the SEC...

In a trickle-down effect, it would help us in the long run. Right now USC is battling Auburn for Lache Seastrunk, the #2 RB in the nation. He was listed as 'high' on Auburn a couple of weeks ago but now is 'medium' and has a trip scheduled to USC on 1/15. Other teams like Florida, Bama, LSU and Georgia are going head to head against USC in recruiting every year. If Carroll leaves and they get a brain-dead recruiter out there, look for even more talent to be signing with our SEC foes. If we were in the business of signing 5 star recuits, I think Croom would be a perfect fit at USC. Until we get to that point, I think Saban would be the perfect fit.
