No more hoops and football free boards???

There are about 2 threads a day on the rest of the free boards. So it would reason that the rest of them will be shut down as well, right?
making game threads open to all could have brought all the traffic back.
why no heads up or input from those that used it over the years?
Can we do at least one combined freeboard like some other sites do? I go in and out of premium membership depending on how much time I have in my life for reading and posting and when in the yearly cycle we are, but I appreciate the game threads and other convos on the free boards. I think with the move here a lot of people got the initial cheap membership trial and nobody moved over from the free board. But I think it’s a mistake to NOT have free boards here—or to give up on them so quickly—you’re going to lose on an initial point of contact with people who might end up subscribing later once they get used to reading and posting here.
Wow. That kinda sucks. The switch to On3 really screwed up the mojo on IC. On the Old IC the free boards were busy. It has not translated over to On3 IC.
Not opposed to that idea. Thank you for the feedback. Something we should consider moving forward. Just has to be enough interest/participation for it not to be just IC staff links and vacant game threads.
The feedback we were getting was actually the opposite in the initial months from what you're saying - that the complete lack of activity was misleading compared to the depth of info and conversation on the subscriber forums, as opposed to a good entry point.
I definitely understand that. I figured the free boards would repopulate slowly once the trial period ended, but I was surprised it was as dead as it was.
I do still think a single free basketball/football board would fix some of the emptiness problems. If it’s a slow part of the year in one sport there would still be activity from the other. I wanted to also say I appreciate the preservation of the free baseball and WBB boards. Again, I subscribe on and off so it’s nice to be able to have access most of the sites functionalities throughout the year.
