Damn. I have to go out of town Tuesday and was so sure I was going to win I checked out the closest place to cash my $700M ticket so I wouldn't have it in my wallet during my trip. Are you sure there wasn't a winning ticket purchased in Corona California??????

Yes. According to the powerball website no body hit the jackpot. There were multiple 1 million dollar winners (5 white balls only) all over the county.

I've never bought a lottery ticket of any kind but I almost did this time. I always had a set of numbers I would have picked. I would have had the powerball number right and all but 1of the others. Any ideas what that would have paid? Maybe I don't want to know. Btw, 62 was the number I missed.

I think $4 dollars for getting the PB right. You have to get all 5 white balls for a million, I think.

I bought 5 tickects, but NE lottery won't be getting another $10. Was sure there was going to be a winner based on the huge volume of tickets (combinations bought). Nice reminder I have a better chance of being struck by lightning while drowning.

4 numbers plus the Powerball is $50 Thousand.

Powerball changed their numbering scheme a couple of years ago - lengthening the odds and raising the price from $1 to $2. They wanted bigger jackpots. Well...

We have a group at work that plays both Powerball and Megamillions when they hit $100 million. We also bought some tickets on our own for last night's drawing. To me, it's a lot of fun to be able to spend a few bucks for a remote shot at untold millions. Still...people figure out a way to complain..

After setting my family up for life - including my next five generations, I'd buy the building M's Pub is in and make sure it reopened this summer. Such a tragedy. Loved that place.

Then what will you do with your remaining $400 million?

Thanks realhusker and huskerfan830. If I had won the big one, after paying off debt I would set up a fund to pick up the tab that every graduating senior from my town would be able to get colleg education at no cost after scholarship and/or financial aid. They would have to graduate a 2 or 4 year college onrealistic schedule and be at least a c student. Upon gradation and getting a job, I would pay off student loans. If someone chose military service and graduates where the individual gets financial assistance from military, they would get blanket $100000 for their service. This would not include private colleges.

Something seems fishy about nobody winning on Saturday... I mean, what are the chances that not every possible set of numbers were picked, and then on top of that, 1 of the sets that weren't picked were actually the numbers drawn? Seems like it the chances would have to be pretty remote... Yet here we are.

I wonder if there is no winner drawn this Wednesday that the Fed's will step in and stop the game and basically order the powerball people to award the money from the jackpot to anyone who has any combo with 5 of 6 numbers drawn. Man, that is crazy money. Could be very close to or surpass 2 billion dollars by the time of Wednesday's drawing. Eek

I'd do at least a few different things. For one I'd get some land and operate a dog and horse rescue with my wife. I'd handle dogs, she'd handle horses. Maybe also do some boarding to help it not be a total money pit.

Plunk as much as possible into tax-deferred investment like IRA. Plunk a ton more into big, boring, safe, dividend-paying stocks. Let the juice run.

Go skiing.

Set up a charitable trust that could generate money for a very long time. Not sure what the charity would be. Maybe it could be several things.

Build a new house to look Victorian. Put cool hidden rooms and secret passages in it. Kick myself years later when I could NEVER find my kids when I needed them.

If the quick picks are randomly generated and not pulled from some central list of not-yet-used numbers, it's actually pretty decent odds that nobody hits.
