because supposedly they are so gruesome. They aretesting the waters to see if they can get a pass. I doubt they will be able to get that pass, not from the Taliban and The Group.

a top portion of his head was blown off. Think about how graphic and gory that is. Those photos don't need to plastered all over every news site and newspaper on the planet. We dropped bin laden to peace according to and in respect of muslim doctrine (islamic law?). let's let that be it.

If our gov't say he's dead then I believe them. Although entertaining, I don't get caught up in the conspiracy theory stuff. There's too many people that have to be involved here to maintain the cover up.

The man's dead. </p>

Although I wouldn't have minded seeing them, nothing good really comes from it. Birthers, truthers, etc. are going to claim conspiracy regardless of what the WH does.

Just publish the DNA results and quote UBL's daughter and the others who witnessed the killing and be done with it. That's all most rational people need...

Don't release the pictures. It would be something the terrorist would do, but we are better than them and should strive to be better than them in everything.

Plus without the images, there is less to rally behind. I like the way we went in, took care of business (armed or unarmed) and just disposed of the body. Simple and to the point.

We should always blindly believe anything that a public servant tells us. It is completely unthinkable that any government would ever lie to it's citizens in order to serve current leaders interest.

Maybe it happened the way they tell us... But which way is that? First OBL was armed and fired at marines. Next he supposedly cowered behind one of his wives. Now that story has changed also. So what really did happen? As a US citizen I don't need my government to decide for me if an image is to graphic. I can make the decision to look or not on my own. These people are not our babysitters, their positions exist to serve the people. The day the people stop questioning the government will be the day we give up our liberty & freedom.

So put the evidence out there & let the people see it. I am not saying it did not happen exactly as we have been told. Put an end to the questions & debate.

Which is worth about 1 US dollar. The best part about it was that kids started throwing balls in intentionally and the people never got angry, they just kept paying.

Here's why...If he's not dead, bin Laden and his cohorts will grab a news paper and a video camera and release a film of UBL holding a paper claiming his death. It wouldn't be that hard to embarrass the US if he's not, in fact, dead. I just can't imagine a scenario why the US would need to lie about this knowing how easy it would be for us to look like fools if the joker is still alive.

ETA: The only scenario I could see where we would be lying about UBL's death is if we actually have him in custody. If we have him alive and tell the world he's dead, then you don't have to deal with any court situations and other formalities. He's ours and ours alone to torture until he spills everything he has to spill. Probably not likely, but it's the only excusable situation I can think of where the US would be making his death up.

Photos from "A Soldier's Perspective"<span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Note:</span> <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">NOT</span> pics of OBL, but some of his cronies. You should be able to recognize the surroundings from earlier pics/vid of the safe house post-raid released by ABC.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Note 2:</span> If you don't like blood, don't look.

I've been following this blog for a long time, I doubt they would put these up if they didn't feel they were authentic.

Edit to add: Reuters Link Evidently these were leaked by the Paki's...

While I'm no conspiracy theorist I tend not to trust the government either, but it would be so easy for them to embarrass the hell out of us if he was still alive... they would not be able to pass that up.

I fully expectthephotosto be Wiki leaked in early November of 2012. Obama gets the pre-election bump, gets to claim to Muslims he did all he could to keep the photo's private, and then blames George Bush.

Suppose Bin Laden has been dead for several years & held on ice for the correct political time to roll him out? Just saying, maybe a distraction is needed from plummeting poll numbers, a crazy billionaire is screaming about a supposedly altered birth certificate, & excuses to further increase surveillance & scrutiny of the general public are needed.

I am not saying that this is what happened. I really don't believe it did. I do understand why people might think this, however. It sure is convenient that the body was dumped before anyone could see it, & now no photos will be released. I have heard much debate over the dumping of the body. I dont know if this is really in keeping with Bin Laden's or his families particular beliefs or not. Regardless, I think the interest of the the American people outweigh any customary burial practices.

Always question your government in the interest of keeping honest people honest.

I can create a video of Bin Laden with a newspaper reporting his death here in my office. It is not that difficult to fake these things. Hell I am sure several have already been released.
