Possible reserve guard? We will probably need more than just Sallis and Hardy.

We will likely only have Allen and maybe Askew on the roster as guards returning.

Makes sense to grab another one. I kind of expected Cal to go the transfer route, though.

Thanks for the info. First time I have heard his name linked to UK.

Played on Seattle Rotary team in EYBL and was a kid who had a big game when Cal went to watch Banchero play during HS season. Believe he had 36 pts against Banchero's team.

Transferred or was going to attend Wasatch Academy.

That's all I knew of him prior to info coming out tonight.

Tipton is also predicting Hopkins to UK (these recruits text them their school choices and he makes them a edit of them in a uniform of said school and posts it) so I say we got him locked up.

Shoot I kinda like his game a bit better than Sallis. Gave it to Askew a couple times in the highlights I saw, sign him up!

His layups driving in from the left reminded me of SGA. Hope this comes to pass.

UK is likely going to need a lot of guards next year, especially if Askew lives up to the hype of being better than expected. Mintz/Boston/Clarke are gone for certain, if Askew is, then you need to load up in the backcourt.

Would be nice to have Clark not have to reclass and as many have started to speak about--have him be leading the '22 class recruiting movement/building that in advance.

Here’s hoping Askew is a 2 and done. Really would like to have him a couple of years but not counting on it.

Season decides the outcome but one thing I've learned, if the staff is saying someone is a lot better than they expected, be prepared for a player to be gone sooner than originally expected. There's been far more buzz like we've seen with Cal's best teams about this group then previous years especially about the high end NBA talent.

My take is the players always need to do what is best for them, but you hope they listen to all voices and not just those who tell them what they want to hear when it comes to NBA decisions.

Hickman looks like a solid player but that’s about it. I’m not seeing what others are. He’s definitely not Ulis or Shai. Ulis was quicker and Shai was bigger. Those drives to the rim will get swatted in college.

As for Askew, I’ll take a dump in my hat and eat it if he’s a OAD. He will be the 4th or more likely 5th option at best and don’t have great athleticism to rely on to get him drafted.

I’ve said the same thing a few times on here.

Hearing you say it makes me think I might actually know what I’m talking about for a change.

Cal always gets 1-3 guys a year we really don't think of as he plays things so close to the vest . Never forget both Murray and Knox committing when no one thought that was possible or the way we came out of no where to sign SGA or others. Bet there is a big we get too that we are being linked to yet. Our PF in this class will be BHH but we still need a center to go along with Jackson next year ( with BHH and Ware at PF)

We’ll see about BHH; there seems to be some growing concerns over his motor, overall work ethic, and his skill progression. Physically he is ready and has an NBA body ... but, does his ability catch up to that?

If we don’t see a lot of improvement in those areas this winter, then I would expect not only a big drop in the rankings for BHH ... but, Kentucky could very well walk away.

Since Cal freshman often leave after 1 year, I’m gonna make a note of this and check back with you in the spring/summer. It could be a 1 guy 1 hat remake.

Tipton Edits made a prediction to UK for four-star PG Nolan Hickman (2021). He was never linked to UK publicly until recently, I believe.

Personally, this is my first time hearing this name/anything about him. Could he be another name to watch?
I think he is interested in UK and may commit soon.

Collins (5-star, 6’9, 210 lbs.) is the big we will be in on soon. Lucas is tight with him.

Things have seemed to cool with BHH. Hopkins is the 4 we will likely get very soon.

It’s looking more and more like Jackson will be OAD.

I am kind of thinking a Toppin/Hopkins at the 4, Ware/Collins at the 5 rotation inside.

He's No. 72 in the Rivals rankings.

He was #51 in composite rankings. Expected to rise, and maybe end up a 5-star.

It’s hard to trust rankings now, with the pandemic ending the season abruptly and putting limits on AAU this summer. I trust Cal when it comes to evaluating talent though. He knows how to spot talent, especially at PG.
