Anyone growing up on the coast remembered him as the New Orleans weatherman who could predict hurricanes landfall. The guy never used computer tech or any fancy stuff. I remember him predicting exactly where Hurricanes Betsy, Camille and Geoges would make landfall. Our local weatherpersons (idiots) Reeder and Fat Babe couldn't stand o their fathers shoulders and kiss that mans ***. BTW hate to say it but fat babe CD is a MSU grad and a total disgrace to the school and to the coast. Especially with her remarks about persons who lived on the water and got what the deserved after Katrina.
