We bought my mother one and have been very pleased with it. I have a Sony and will have to say the Vizio has about the same picture quality but a much better sound output than the Sony.

Samsung is probably the best line, the Vizio are the bargain line. So if you are real picky about color reproduction, ghosting, and the depth of the black then you are going to notice some issues with the Vizio. That being said, most of the components are made by the same people these days. For normal TV viewing (read, not Blu-Ray) you probably won't notice the difference.

One last thing, I have the newest Samsung LED and it's so good that it kind of freaks me out. Like better than any TV you have seen before and so it doesn't look right. I actually lowered the settings to take some of the sharpness out of it because it was just strange.

If you get one with the Internet Apps on it there is no way to dump the cache except to reset it to factory settings. What happens after a period of time is that the tv starts to dump functions to free up memory. The first function to go is the remote control. I was just discussing this last week with someone it happened to.

I might take a look at Panasonic plasmas. You can get some really good ones for great prices now. I just bought one a couple of months ago, and love it.<div>
</div><div>As far as Vizios are concerned, the XVT series with the local-dimming LEDs seem to be really good, but I don't own one, or know anyone that does to tell you first-hand.</div>
