I agree, we need Jason to be consistently good. Wouldn’t surprise me if Ryan moved to Friday. Really need to find 2 guys and ride them in the corners. Really think that Rom should and has earned one of those spots. Probably will still get some movement at the other with Carter and Nunez.
How about the kid Hull who hit the homer to tie it up and got the winning hit ? Is he an outfielder?
I think he's actually got Hull confused with Howe because TH hit the homer to tie it as well as the game winner. For FHSC, Howe is a freshman who plays RF or LF primarily but can play 1B as well.
Yeah, bad miss by me there. Should’ve added him to my list. Considering Howe started the year in the lineup, maybe the big game Sunday raises his and Forbes confidence and he’ll stick.
This team was built around pitching and specifically starting pitching so if they pitch at a high level this season is going be very good but if they pitch like they did this weekend we are going to have problems.
Forbes talks about how the pitchers need to throw strikes and at the same time he talks about pitchers needing to make batters chase. You can't have both. The pitches are called by the coaches. It looks to me like entirely too much nit picking gong on trying to hit the corners constantly leading to walks or having to groove a fastball to avoid a walk and getting tagged. If pitch com is calling for a low outside pitch on a full count to make a batter chase and he gets walked that is not all on the pitcher.
Thought it was odd that State moved in to the top 10 in the polls after losing a game to Lafayette.
It's way too early to care about RPI, but last year State went 17-12 in ACC games and wasn't particularly close to hosting because of their poor non-conference RPI. Well, currently they're 166th in RPI because of their ridiculously poor weekend schedule to this point. They're going to have to be a dominant ACC team to even have a chance to host. That's pretty dumb of Avent, purposely putting their team behind the 8-ball for the most important thing.

My Hornets!! (I did a brief stopover there in my educational journey). Such a nothing commuter type school. But I think baseball has punched above the rest of their athletics level weight for a long while though.
Just saw the line today... 9 hits given up in 4.0 innings, NO walks and 8 K's. That is just a crazy line. Struck out 2 out of every 3 possible outs/ per inning, and walked no one, but gave up 9 hits and 8 runs. Not sure how it's even possible, but it happened...
I will say it yet again in the trackman era build up a stacked lineup and a few good arms ! Umps are afraid to call strikes.
Somewhat shocked at the no. Development of Jacob Duran at state. Don’t get me wrong the kid has electric stuff, but just hasn’t gotten better since his freshman year.
