North Carolina would make a a good fit for the SEC. But having said that, what a stupid move that would be. Yeah, I get it. Lock in more revenue. Let administrators and coaches have millions more to make and spend. Their fans can sit around and brag that while they will never win the conference, by God their athletic department spends more money than those losers in the ACC!

***Never win the conference in football***

they haven’t won the football conference championship in almost 50 years, so I don’t think that expectation will change too much.

Isn't the buyout from the acc way too high for many years? Like most of the members need to want to leave for any team to leave without a huge penalty?

When it comes to football and these mega conferences, that's going to be the reality for most schools. But there will always be exceptions and that's what most fan bases expect their team to be. The exception. But specific to UNC, they're chances to win a conference in football would get a lot harder, but also basketball and baseball. The SEC would be much tougher going by recent results.

Yep this gets brought up yearly. It was Clemson and FSU last time . They were Even going to sue the ACC to get out and yet nothing.
