Pete Gilcrest is one of the best coaches that I know and even a better person. Always willing to help kids and coaches even if they are opposing coaches. unfortunaly North Forsyth became a casualty of Forsyth County's choice transfer policy and with kids leaving to a multitude of schools he and his teams became less able to compete in the past couple of years. I do think North moving to 2A will be a boost to the athletic program and they should be more competitive .Best of luck in the future coach
Can also say Gilchrist is a good coach, but a better man. Met him several times, each time was a pleasure.
Ridiculous that Forsyth County has 4A and 2A schools plus a 1A magnet that was "sold" as a college prepatory academy to make people feel good.
It's a poorly ran county that overestimated it's population growth.
