Can we go to 1-32 seeding for all classes?
North/South seeding is terrible. You see the same teams playing each other year after year.

We, "whiners," whined about it for years and eventually things changed for 7 & 8a, respectively. Now, it's time to "whine" about the other classes as well.
Or at the very least, do some directionally-type geographical lines to make it interesting.
I understand that, but it is working great in 7/8a. Since we're not using the computers and rankings and such, then 1 - 32 is most fair. Let 'em travel, I say!

I prefer true 1-32 also, but I think when it comes to the rest of our state and their attitudes- it’s another story.
Another vote here for 1 - 32 seeding in all classes...it is time...
did this years ago then ihsa changed it. reason at the time given where (this are paraphrases but damn close. "The State Championship games do not exist to gaurentee that the 2 best teams meet." and "we dont seed state wide in any of the other sports".
Well duh cant seed basketball that way, not with 3 games a week.
It was all BS, it was another thinly veiled attempt to break the backs of the private football powers. I believe, DONT COUNT ON THIS BEING GOSPEL AS THIS WAS A NUMBER OF YEARS BACK but I want to say this was lead by the Bloomington head coach at the time, who was obviouslly getting fed up with bringing an un defeated team to the Chicago area and getting mauled. More often then not by a CCL team.
So eventually we got the multiplier and then the success factor.
Im hearing every team that makes the playoffs now gets an IHSA trophy for participating. JUST KIDDING.
